This three-ingredient cilantro cream recipe is a family favorite, and I guarantee it'll be a go-to for you once you try it. It's the perfect thing to add to Mexican dishes like fajitas, tacos, burritos, and wraps for a cool and fresh component to counteract any spice. While the cream is absolutely delicious and versatile, it's so easy to make that it feels completely effortless, which is the best part!

Depending on your taste preferences, the recipe is also easily adaptable. If you're vegan, a dairy-free cream cheese works beautifully, and if you're looking to boost your protein intake, you can easily substitute Greek yogurt! I use cilantro paste because I always have it on hand, but fresh cilantro works amazingly well after a few pulses in the food processor or blender.

INGREDIENTS

    • 3 ounces of cream cheese
    • 3 tablespoons of cilantro paste
    • 3 tablespoons of lime juice

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Place cream cheese, cilantro paste, and lime juice in a microwave-safe bowl.

    2. Cover with a paper towel to avoid mess, and microwave for 45-60 seconds.

    3. Stir until combined. If you desire a thinner sauce, thin with additional lime juice.

    Notes

    This recipe is meant to be simple. Fresh is best, however, I never get through my cilantro in time. Cilantro paste can be found in the produce section.
