Are you noticing a distinctly dark yellow color in the toilet bowl? Not to get graphic, but it's time to check the bowl to see the color of your urine — there's a big chance you could be dehydrated.

Getting enough water each day is essential to optimal performance in the gym (read: having your best workout), taking care of your muscles, losing weight, avoiding headaches, having more energy, boosting mood, and even relieving anxiety. But it can be hard to tell if you're not getting enough water, especially if you're not tracking it.

The solution? Glance down at the toilet. If it's lighter yellow in color, you're good to go, but anything darker, and it's a sign you should be a little concerned (with your H2O intake, that is).

If you think you're plenty hydrated and you're still seeing darker colors in the porcelain throne, then it's time for a doctor visit, as it may be a sign of something more serious. And if you're not feeling especially hydrated, then grab yourself a cute water bottle and remind yourself to start sippin'!
