If You Have Nut Allergies, You Need to Know About This Clif Bar Recall

The company behind the popular Clif protein bars is voluntarily recalling three products over nut allergy concerns. On July 5, the Food and Drug Administration announced that the company would be recalling the Clif Builder's Protein Bar in Chocolate Mint, the Clif Kid Zbar Protein Bar in Chocolate Mint, and the Clif Kid Zbar Protein Bar in Chocolate Chip.

According to the press statement, the three bars do not disclose the possible presence of almonds, walnuts, cashews, and several other nuts. After a reportedly small number of consumers complained about having an allergic reaction, Clif Bar decided to proactively recall the affected products. That being said, the bars are absolutely safe for people who do not have any nut allergies.

If you have a nut allergy and encounter one of the potentially problematic bars, Clif Bar is instructing consumers to immediately return the product for a full refund or exchange. For more information on the recall, read the FDA's full press statement.
