RunDisney Announced a 5K Series Celebrating 80 Years of Marvel, and Where's Our Cape?

Grab your running shoes, because RunDisney just announced three races celebrating Marvel's 80th anniversary! Starting in June, RunDisney will host one virtual 5K each month through the end of Summer. That means no booking a flight to Walt Disney World (unless you want to!) or waking up at 3 a.m. to make your start time inside the park. You can even break up the distance to fit your schedule or fitness level. However you complete the race, you'll feel stronger than ever at the end.

If you finish all three 5K races — each themed after one of Marvel's iconic superheroes — you'll be eligible for the RunDisney Virtual Challenge and be awarded an exclusive finisher's medal at the end of the series. Individual races ($40) and the challenge ($145) are on sale now through June 29, 2019, on the RunDisney website.

RunDisney Virtual June 5K

Starting June 1, runners are encouraged to go higher, further, and faster with a Captain Marvel-themed race. When you channel your inner Carol Danvers to reach the finish line, you'll receive this stunning medal.

RunDisney Virtual July 5K

July 1 kicks off the second month of the RunDisney Virtual Series, featuring Iron Man! It's a scorcher, so be sure you stay hydrated to keep up your superhero strength.

RunDisney Virtual August 5K

Wakanda forever! The Black Panther-themed race officially kicks off August 1. Just like other RunDisney events, a themed t-shirt or fun costume is always encouraged.

RunDisney Virtual Challenge

If you're brave enough to conquer all three races, you'll earn the RunDisney Virtual Challenge medal. (Just remember you have to register for the challenge to qualify!) You could say that this is . . . endgame.
