POPSUGAR beauty editor Carrie Carrollo's story is so inspiring! Growing up as a transracial adoptee, people always questioned her ethnic identity. From being stopped on the street by strangers' invasive questions to feeling like she needed to say "Mom" quickly so people wouldn't make assumptions, Carrie's early life led to some feelings of isolation. As she grew up, she educated others about adoption and transracial adoption and came to understand that her individual upbringing was her strength.
