Post-Run Stretching Sequence

Stretching is essential after a run to prevent soreness and injury. Be sure to hold each stretch for at least 30 seconds to reap the benefits. A little movement while stretching is fine, like if you want to lower your torso a little further when forward bending, but be sure not to bounce. The stretch should feel good, so if you're feeling any strain, decrease the intensity slightly. When switching between stretches, move slowly to prevent tearing a muscle. To check out my favorite post-run stretches, just start the slideshow.
