Is your next vacation all about R&R, sightseeing or adventure?

I hope you are planning a summer vacation!!! It is always great to have something to look forward to.

If you are taking a vacation I am wondering if it will be all about rest and relaxation - massages and margaritas on the beach. Or is it all about adventure like rock climbing in Yosemite or canoeing in the boundary waters. Possibly, you are going sightseeing - Mt. Vernon and the Smithsonian, or even more exotic the Louvre and Versailles.

Adventure. I'm not one to really relax on vacations. I love seeing all the sites of my destination, and staying active.

Sightseeing in Vietnam and Cambodia - quite an adventure actually. Only two more weeks to go.

I'm on vacation right ow at a convention but my next "vacation" will be to Chicago and I'll be apartment hunting for when I move there;)

Does anyone have any recommendations for some really cool, uniuqe outdoors/athletic vacations? Not biking b/c I'm scared of bikes (long story.) But mabe a phenom unusual hike or something else. In the US?Thanks!!!Leslie

<b>pk9000</b> - that sounds awesome! We'll be going to Cali to visit family so that's not really a vacation vacation (but we'll def be hitting the waves!) - But in Aug. we're going to Italy so a bit of relaxation and sightseeing.

I just a fabulous vacation with a slew of my girlfriends from college. We have an annual ritual where all 11 (yes, 11!) of us get together... to totally unwind and relax. We went to TN for the 2nd year in a row two weeks ago to my friend's parents' gorgeous lakehouse :) It was paradise! We did lots of fun water sports (tubing, water skiing, jet skiing, etc) but mostly just laid out and around all day, every day... catching up and loving life :) It was SO great!

my famiily is going houseboating on Lake Shasta in northern CA. Going to be so fun! Swimming, hiking, hanging out with my 7 month of niece. I can't wait!

I've never really been into the relaxation vacation. This summer we're going to the Galapogos Islands for 10 days of hiking, snorkeling, and ecology/biology!

I'm planning on doing a little bit of everything. The Hubby and I are spending 4 days in NY and plan on doing some serious walking, then we're off to Panama for beach relaxation, rainforest hiking, kayaking, and canoeing. It's gonna be awesome

I selected R&R, but it'll also include site seeing and some outdoors-y stuff.

Mine's going to be a little bit of both, too! My boyfriend and I are going to a lake in southern Indiana where we golf, waterski, and go tubing, as well as just lay on the boat and relax.

Both! We're going to S.C. for a week and we usually chill on the beach half the time. The other time we're either shark fishing, crabbing, playing golf or croquet.
