Which Will Win? Red Vines or Twizzlers?
In addition to being grilled cheese day, this Sunday is also National Red Licorice Day. To help us celebrate, the folks at Red Vines recently sent us a care package of various flavors. The Sugar HQ is actually full of die-hard Twizzler fans, so I decided to see what they thought of my fave Red Vines.
Red Vines or Twizzlers?
Today I was meeting a friend for lunch when I realized I didn't have any cash. So I popped into the nearby drugstore to use my ATM card for some cash back. When I usually do this, I end up with a pack of gum, but today something made me grab a pack of Red Vines instead.
Movie Theater Food Breakdown
This holiday season many of us will be flocking to the movies to see the latest and greatest hitting the theaters.

Rihanna Covers Her Bikini Body in NYC
Rihanna covered up her bikini and snacked on a Twizzler yesterday for a visit to the Soho House pool in NYC. While she's had some near run-ins with Chris Brown during her time in the city, Rihanna has focused on chilling with friends like Katy Perry. Both girls are known to enjoy some swimsuit time, but neither made it to the finals of our 2009 Bikini Bracket — voting on the last matchup ends this evening, so make sure to get your votes in before the polls close at midnight!
Taste Test: Young & Smylie Licorice
Being a big Red Vines and Twizzlers fan, I was excited to find out that Hershey's brand Y&S Candies was debuting a new line of "grownup," bite-sized soft candy, Young & Smylie licorice ($2.99). The licorice is sold in a resealable plastic bag, which locks in the candy's moisture and keeps it soft. Another thing I enjoyed about the packaging was the "licorice lore" on the back: Did you know that the licorice plant Glycyrrhiza, belongs to the pea or bean family?

You are what you eat and so the saying goes, but a group of parents believe that the food coloring their children digest affects their behavior. Commonly found in processed foods like Twizzlers, Doritos and Twinkies as well as baked goods, red dye no. 40 is to blame for aggressive outbursts in kids according to some moms and dads.

Would You Have Chosen To Do an Edible Garment on Project Runway?
Last night's Project Runway brought the much-dreaded unusual-material challenge. The designers found themselves at the Hershey's store in Times Square scooping up Reese's candies, Hershey Kiss pillows, and whatever else they could get their hands on in the five-minute grab session. All of the designers, save one, ended up using candy wrappers, paper, or pillow fabric to fashion their garments: Chris warned about the dangers of working with food.
