After spending 30 minutes kneeling on the ground and lifting couch cushions, mom suddenly realizes her sunglasses were on top of her head. Whether she puts the milk in the cupboard or her keys in the fridge, a busy woman is known to misplace her belongings — an occurrence that seems to become more common in motherhood. At the airport the other day, we got off the parking shuttle van with all of our vacation loot.

I can't imagine even thinking twice about fine lines and wrinkles back when I was a senior in high school. Not so for UK resident Jodie King, who received her first Botox injection as an 18th-birthday present. Jodie's mother, Margaret King, who herself has spent approximately $72,000 on plastic surgery, told Closer magazine, "Jodie's forehead is like mine — she gets pronounced lines when she makes a facial expression.

City living certainly has its advantages — a bevy of nice restaurants, concerts, theater, diversity, museums, and culture. But today I witnessed one of my biggest fears come true. As I sat on my bus into work, two teachers boarded with 30 sixth grade students in tow.

Strange Invisible Perfumes (SIP) is a "company in love with flowers," and it's obvious. The natural approach to perfumery, using pure plants along with a narrative twist, is a little avant-garde and a whole lot luxurious. Even their unusual name comes from a quote in Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra: "From the barge, a strange invisible perfume hits the sense of the adjacent wharfs."

I remember wearing my Members Only nylon jacket in high school thinking I was the coolest kid in town. Well, times have changed, and so has Members Only. Come Spring, the company will be offering up some cool denim.

Checking items off your to-do list can be challenging, especially when you've got kids in tow. On my day off last week, it was my mission to change my address, register to vote and obtain a parking pass for my new neighborhood — big city dwellers feel my pain.
My nearly two-year-old and I bolted out the door and waited in line at the DMV for the doors to open.
