Since Hanukkah is coming up on Dec. 4, I thought it'd be a great idea to chat about oil. When you look on a shelf at the store, there are many kinds of oil to choose from, and I always thought that canola and corn oil were the same thing.

When Michael Phelps partied at the University of South Carolina last November, he was reportedly slamming beers and acting obnoxious. But it was smoking marijuana out of a bong that got him suspended from swimming and dropped by sponsors. After a weekend of grilling and recipe experimentation, my father and I faced a refrigerator full of food. While we could have eaten the baked beans, ribs, and salads on their own, I came up with a genius new way to use leftovers — as toppings on pizza! For $3 we purchased a "skin" — an extra-large pizza dough with no toppings — from a local pizzeria.
