Cars can be deadly in California, but not in the way you expect. Air pollution leads to more deaths than car accidents in two California regions. In addition to saving lives, bringing air pollution up to standards would save $28 billion each year in health care costs, missed work, and a loss of salary due to early death, according to a new study.

OK, so last week I told you about the top 10 cities with the MOST smog. It's kind of depressing, but good to know so we can do something about it.
The good news is that smog levels across much of the country are lower than they were from 2003 to 2005, especially in the eastern U.S.

Ozone pollution, more popularly known as smog, is a big problem. Smog can inflame and damage the lining of the lungs, which can lead to swelling and restricted airways. Inhaling smog is like getting a sunburn on your lungs.

Jennifer Aniston showed off her killer legs out with her hairstylist Chris McMillan on the way into the wedding of their friend and fellow stylist Kelsie Gigandet. The bride's brother Cam Gigandet was looking hot all dressed up in a suit for Kelsie's big day. The Twilight star carried his young daughter Everleigh into the event and later smoked cigarettes outside the reception venue, Smog Shoppe, in LA.

While the medals and finish lines from the Olympics are becoming a distant memory — so was the hard-fought clean air that Beijing enjoyed during the Games. Residents have been discussing just how to keep the measures in effect, and now they might have won. A partial victory at least.

An extremely politically correct cartoon-family is coming to a television near you. Mike Judge of King of the Hill and Beavis and Butt-head fame has created a new show — The Goode Family — which premiers on ABC tonight.
The Goodes are many shades of green.

You might think a lawn a la Mother Nature is more ecologically friendly than a plastic patch of grass. After all, it’s natural and biodegradable — so of course it’s greener (on both sides of the fence). But even that may now be debatable.
