Obama's Nobel Peace Prize: Deserved or Premature?
This morning, a humbled President Obama said he did not expect to wake up to the news that he won the Nobel Peace Prize. Maintaining that he did not feel that he deserved to be in the company of the transformative figures previously honored by the prize, Obama said he would accept it as "a call to action, a call for nations to confront the challenges of the 21st century."
The Nobel committee cited Obama's rare ability to have "captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future."

Scarlett Johansson has been busy promoting The Spirit all around the world, but yesterday she took a break in Norway. It was hardly a day off for the actress, as she rehearsed for The Nobel Peace Prize Concert 2008, which she'll be hosting alongside Michael Caine. Golden Globe nominee Penelope Cruz joined Bono in Paris on Friday for the Nobel Peace Prize World Summit, a day after Scarlett Johansson hosted the organization's annual concert in Norway. Bono brought his wife Ali, who chatted with Penelope as he mingled with the First Lady of France, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, and Ingrid Betancourt, the former Columbian hostage who also recently met with Madonna.
