The concept of neutral spine may sound simple, but this important Pilates concept can be elusive. To keep a neutral shade of spine, you maintain the natural curves of your back while doing an exercise, such as an upper abdominal curl (aka crunches). Keeping neutral means the muscles in your back are working in conjunction with your abs, and when you get your abs and back to fire together, you are working your core.

The concept of neutral spine sounds easy. You maintain the natural curves of your spine while doing an exercise – like an upper abdominal curl. Keeping neutral means the muscles in your back will be working along with your abs and when you get your abs and back to fire together you are working your core.

Surgery
Kyphoplasty, a surgical technique used to treat spinal fractures, does not improve a person's back pain or quality of life, according to a review published in 2006 by a nonprofit health services research agency. Kyphoplasty should only be done if bed rest, medicines, and physical therapy do not relieve back pain.
Ultrasound
Therapeutic ultrasound uses sound waves to deliver gentle vibrations to an area of the body.

Working in a neutral spine is a core component of Pilates. That little pun is intended, too, for working in neutral ensures that your back and abs are both engaged, often turning simple ab exercises into core work. There is a side-lying neutral, too.

Find Your Deep Abs: The focus on the deep abs, aka transverse abdominis, is what makes Pilates so unique, but you need to find those abs before you can work them. These deep muscles can be hard to isolate without squeezing your bum or tucking your pelvis, which are both no-nos in Pilates.
Breathing: Every exhale is a chance to engage your deep abs since they work as you force your exhale.

Whether running for fun, fitness, or to be fast, efficiency is key. Having a strong core plays an important part in translating the power of the legs to propelling the entire body forward through space. The deep abs, made up of the transversus abdominis (TVA) and internal obliques, are the keystone for core stabilization.

Treatment
Psoriasis that develops on the hands or feet is often very difficult to treat. However, an advanced clinical trial showed that a medication called efalizumab (Raptiva) effectively cleared or nearly cleared moderate-to-severe symptoms in adults after 12 weeks.
Several studies have shown that most people with severe psoriasis who are treated with infliximab (Remicade) have significant improvement in symptoms by week 10.
