Once, on a trip to Sorrento, I stayed in a beautiful pied a terre that overlooked a lemon and blood orange grove. At night, the fragrance from the blossoms and newly fallen fruit was intoxicatingly heady, and so heavy that it made me dizzy. Combined with the Sorrento moonlight (and the limoncello), well .

No matter how healthy my lunch is there are still days where I hit that dreaded afternoon slump. My eyes begin to glaze over and I start to zone out at my desk. A quick walk outside usually helps, but, depending on my workload, I can't always get away.

To keep your garbage disposal smelling fresh, take half of a lemon and pop it into the disposal. If you do this monthly, it'll help prevent icky odors from building up, and keep your sink, disposal, and kitchen all smelling fresh. I've found that using a lemon that's already been juiced works fine as well.

If you're sick and tired of the average steak dinner, consider giving this creative recipe a whirl. The preparation is simple and straightforward grilling, but the combination of ingredients — tri-tip, fennel, lemons, and mozzarella — is out of the ordinary and unexpected. Each element serves a purpose: the hearty, charred steak is juicy, the anise-flavored fennel is crunchy, the soft, melted cheese is creamy, and the tangy, caramelized lemon is sour.

We are currently fixated on red, white, and blue foods, and this berry lemon meringue cake is absolutely no exception. After all, what could be more festive (and all American) than super-seasonal berries, moist white cake, and a fluffy meringue topping?

Since blueberry season has begun, I couldn't help but go overboard and buy several baskets from my local farmers market. While I enjoyed one basket raw, I used the rest to make these mini blueberry shortcakes with lemon and thyme biscuits.
The moist biscuits are simple to make.

With flowers in full bloom and windows wide open to let in the breeze, it's hard to imagine your home not smelling nice in the Summer. But, every room can get a little musty sometimes— or stale with the scent of last night's curry dinner. To curb the smell, slice up about six lemons and toss them in pot of water with a tablespoon or two of cloves.

While I love to go all out when hosting dinner parties, I often opt to throw together a casual, one pot meal when close friends come over. This was the case a few weekends ago, when an old friend from high school and I caught up over a meal of chicken, Israeli couscous, and vegetables; the no-fuss dish seemed to set a relaxed tone for the rest of the evening.
Although the recipe was straightforward and basic, I couldn't have been more impressed by the result.
