After a long week, I was searching for a little inspiration and I found this gem:
"Failure happens all the time. It happens every day in practice. What makes you better is how you react to it."

So last night you splurged and went to Dairy Queen and had a large Oreo Blizzard and now you feel like absolute crap and could not possibly get off the couch, let alone make it to the gym. Or maybe you have been slacking on getting a new pair of sneakers and now your knees are killing you.
Just like anything else in life, mistakes happen in fitness too.

Since we all make mistakes, it's comforting to take solace in the notion that we learn from them. Now some MIT researchers have gone and ruined that for us by conducting a study that suggests that our brains learn more when we succeed, not when we do something wrong.
While studying monkeys, the scientists discovered that the monkeys' brains processed information better after the monkey did something right.

They're baaaaack! This week on Grey's Anatomy, Meredith, and Izzie make their returns to Seattle Grace/Mercy West, though only Mere is back in scrubs. Izzie heads back to the hospital with her favorite high-school teacher in tow, a sweet guy who's suffering from what appears to be dementia and is constantly referring to Izzie as a pregnant teen.

This sticky tip etiquette question comes from Angelica, part of our Money Talk group.
I had brunch with a pal recently at a fairly upscale new restaurant and the entire experience was a bust. We had just worked out and were starving so we put in our order as soon as we sat down.

While she was showing off her more relaxed curls at a basketball match with the family at the weekend, Victoria wears her hair in a tight top knot hairstyle for the 16 page spread by Alexi Lubomirski. FabUK has the lowdown on what Victoria said about her customers and her nerves and I've got extracts from her interview about her solo career, her future, Emma Watson, her exercise regime and the importance of positive thinking.

Dear Savvy,
I have a question about a job I applied for earlier this month (Oct. 4). I got a reply the following morning because my resume didn't download, and I replied with an apology and another attachment a few hours later.

Sometimes, no matter how much we're on top of our expenses and feel in control of our finances, mistakes do happen. Take, for example, a recent money mistake compliments of yours truly. In my attempt to purchase the perfect wedding gift, I failed to pay attention to the currency in which the present's price was listed.

You all know how I feel about coffee - I love it. Hopefully you also know how I feel about moderation - it is a philosophy to live by.
So please learn from Jasmine Willis, the 17 year old Brit who was hospitalized for caffeine overdose.

"There’s a way that we actually have men take all the responsibility for sexuality, and then we get upset that they’re holding it."
This is the second in a four-part series of interviews I had with Nicole Daedone, who is emerging as the leader of the slow-sex movement and who founded the OneTaste urban retreat center in San Francisco. OneTaste invites men and women to learn about mindful sexuality by participating in workshops, yoga, and (for residents only) controversial "OMing" sessions in which men stroke women to orgasm during daily morning sessions.
