It is both Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Vegetarian Awareness Month, so the red meat question was due to come. Studies have found that eating red meat daily increases your risk of breast cancer by 56 percent. These days, I think you would be hard-pressed to find a woman eating red meat daily, but that statistic sure does get you thinking.

With local and organic food having such a high price tag, it can be hard to eat in a sustainable way. One way I've gotten around the high costs is by joining a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). The idea of a CSA is pretty simple — consumers pay farmers directly for a portion of their crop.

Former model, cookbook author, and host of Top Chef Padma Lakshmi has got it going on.
After checking out the image of her in Allure's naked truth photo essay, it is hard to believe she gains 10 to 15 pounds when filming a season of Top Chef. When filming the competitive reality cooking show Padma eats a lot of food.

Served alongside tartar sauce and a quick and easy red slaw, this finger food evokes the best beachside eats. Better yet, the shrimp can be breaded ahead of time and stored in the fridge, so when you get home from work, you just pop them in the oven.
