I consider myself an active person and am definitely happier strolling about than sitting, but I sit for a large portion of the day. I blog – how could I avoid a chair? Like most things, there's a technique to sitting.

It doesn't take much to make your home workstation a little more body friendly. So before you head back to school this Fall, add a few ergonomic touches to your home office. I have professed my love for the Ikea Dave Laptop stand many times before, so if you must work in front of the tube (like yours truly), put it on a stand and not on your lap!

When furniture designer Herman Miller sent me one of their latest and greatest creations, the Embody Chair — which is both body and blogging friendly — I couldn't wait to see if it felt as good as it looked.
With the help of physicians and professionals in such fields like biomechanics, vision, physical therapy, and ergonomics, designers Jeff Weber and Bill Stumpf created the Embody Chair with the office worker in mind, therefore making sure it was jam-packed full of health-positive benefits.
What instantly struck me about this chair was the fact that its entire backing looks like a real spine, with vertebrates and all.

Sure, I bet you have a black or other primary colored wrist rest, and it suits you just fine. But this is geeksugar, and I'm not interested in plain peripherals! I'm dazzled by this Wrist Rest Set ($11) and its turquoise geometric pattern.

We've all heard how bad sitting in a chair all day is - Well G-Tech has addressed this problem.
No this woman is not at the dentist - she's working on her computer on the ergonomic Neber chair designed in Korea. It tilts you back, so the weight is distributed evenly throughout your body, instead of being focused on your lower back and bum (as with regular sitting).

Losing passion for your job doesn't necessarily mean you're headed for a breakup. We're all feeling a little burned out these days, and the lack of available positions out there can make us feel trapped in our desk chairs (as comfortably ergonomic as they may be). Doomed, you are not.

There's no fighting it — back to school time is here. I've already shown you ways to stylishly carry your laptop, ways to make your studying environment more ergonomic, and which gadgets to toss in your new Fall bag, so here's a simple and cheap way to keep your dorm nice and neat.
From Ikea (one of my favorite places to shop, by the way), this PS Laptop Workstation ($60) allows you to get your term paper written without having to use your bed as a work station, and keeps all your desk essentials in one compact space.

Typing all day can be a pain in the wrist! I'm talking about carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), which occurs when the median nerve, running from the forearm into the hand, becomes compressed at the wrist. This nerve runs through the narrow carpal tunnel at the base of the hand, and controls sensations to the palm side of your thumb and fingers.

Beyond high hopes for an ergonomic desk chair, most of us don't give a second thought to what our office space looks like. But when you're an architect, the design of your workspace may not only affect your productivity and mood, but the impressions of your clients as well. Madrid-based architecture firm Selgas Cano should have no trouble dazzling clients who visit its office, a futuristic gem in the middle of the woods.
