Daylight Savings used to mean sleeping in an extra hour but now that I'm a parent, it just means my day gets started an hour earlier. Many moms gripe about the change while others hardly make it noticeable in their routine. When my kids woke up this morning, the clock read 7:00 instead of 8:00.

Thankfully, whenever daylight saving time (DST) rolls around, my trusty cell phone and laptop automatically adjust to the new time so I'm not late for appointments, etc. But for alarm clocks, microwaves, and ovens, which aren't as intuitive and which we still use for telling time, I highly suggest setting up a reminder alert with Remindr for this Sunday so don't miss your brunch date with grandma. And with Remindr, you can choose how you want the alert — whether it be via email, SMS, Twitter, or through Gtalk.

I have a love / hate relationship with daylight savings. These days the most difficult part is transitioning my little girls onto the new time schedule and trying to motivate to make dinner when it is pitch black outside. However, I find the early morning sun a wonderful motivation to exercise.

If you haven't been keeping track of time, we're changing our clocks this weekend — back an hour — which means we're losing an hour of daylight, but we're gaining an hour of sleep! There's no denying that walking home from work in the dark is a total bummer, but think of all the things you can do with that extra hour! My friends at The Frisky came up with 25 suggestions and I wanted to share five of them with you, and offer a few of my own, too!

Just a happy reminder to set your clocks ahead an hour and get amped for Spring! I'm sure you're already ready since longer days and warmer nights equals good times. Here's to drinking margaritas on the beach and reading trashy novels poolside!

I can't believe it's just about time to set the clocks forward. I know it means more light during the day, which means going home when it's still light outside, but still, I'm going to miss that extra hour of sleep.
To help cope with daylight savings time, White Castle has announced "Daylights Cravings Time."

As you may know (and if you're in America and don't know this, then quick change your clocks!), we sprung the clocks forward for daylight savings this past Saturday night/Sunday morning. Now, all last week I searched the internet for a drink that would convey that feeling, but I found nothing called "Daylight Savings" (or Spring Forward for that matter) and really thought it was a true shame. So this weekend, when I was at the Velvet Cantina, I convinced Peter (the fantastic bartender who's last name I never got) to invent one for me.

Just a friendly reminder it's daylight savings and it's time to Spring forward! Or rather, set your clocks an hour forward. While you're at it, be on the look out for one of my favorite designers, Derek Lam's new sunnies this Spring.

Congress passed the law after deciding that an early evening daylight would translate into energy savings, so this is my geeky reminder that DST begins Sunday at 2 a.m.
In order to be on time come Sunday, everyone must remember to set their clocks forward one hour.
The new change means some computer clocks set to change at the traditional daylight savings time will all be an hour off until you check for updates or update them yourself.
