Talk about a shocker! The low-budget underdog Paranormal Activity has been riding its growing popularity all the way to the top — even upsetting the reigning king of horror, the Saw franchise. Paranormal took in $22 million in its first weekend with a wide release, which has execs talking about a possible sequel.

After spending a few days in Boston with Suri, Tom Cruise made the trip down to Long Island to see Katie Holmes yesterday on their third wedding anniversary. When I was in college, in addition to all the books I had to read for school, I was an avid fiction reader. Even then, if I read a book a week, I felt I was doing pretty well.
Forty-six-year-old Nina Sankovitch of Westport, CT, made it her goal to read book a day while blogging (naturally!) about her activities, in part to share her love of books with others and as a way to get through the pain of her sister's death in 2005.

Couples Retreat opens this weekend, and though the plot looks silly, I can't help but be romanticized by the deep blue water and tropical resort featured in the trailer. Piña coladas? Palm trees?
