I'm in a lunch rut. For the last week I've been eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and an apple. I usually make a big dinner the night before so I can bring the extras with me to work but I've been having a lot of guests over, which equals no leftovers.

When you are trying to eat healthy, and especially if you are counting calories, it really helps to pack your own lunch no matter if you are eating at work or school. This however takes some pre-planning and a few extra minutes in the morning, both of which can be hard to come by. Not only is it a great way to save money, bringing your lunch to work ensures that you are eating healthy fare (if you pack healthy fare!) without hidden calories.

All good things must come to an end. And that includes Rachel Zoe's work relationship with her platinum-blond style associate, Taylor Jacobson. You either loved her or hated her — but you have to admit you loved her wardrobe.

Eating out can be hard on the wallet and the waistline. I try to bring my lunch to work, usually leftovers, every day. While that's the goal, I probably only meet it three out of five workdays.

Tuesday night's soapy dramas packed several surprises into this week's episodes — 90210 introduces a whole new character to love (or hate) and Sasha drops a bomb on Dixon; while over on Melrose, Riley and Jonah's seemingly perfect relationship is quickly unraveling. But the biggest surprise of all? Ella was nice.

Just when you thought Glee couldn't get any wackier than baby buying and middle-aged students, they go and take uppers. Yup, this week's episode didn't disappoint in the hilarity department, from the A-Rod steroid jokes to Sue's dear diary moment. I do wish there could have been more performances, though there were some serious strides in the story lines, particularly with Will and Emma.

This week brought us another double whammy of 90210 and Melrose Place. I honestly didn't go into the evening with high expectations — between last week's sexting episode and sibling baddie Jen, I figured both shows would take a breather this time 'round. And they nearly did.

Dear Savvy,
I work in a small office with four other people. I am lucky in many ways — they are smart, funny, and friendly. We coexist well, and three of us usually grab lunch together or send one person out for takeout.

Mommy Dearest,
My son loves having playdates with his best friend, but his mother never offers to host us. In the last year and a half, she has extended one invitation and when it's her turn, she always has an excuse — from her air conditioning being broken to just having the exterminator come — as to why it would be better to meet at my house. I am happy to have them over, but tired of being the one who has to put lunch out and do the major clean up.
