It's been a while since I heard any news about someone starting a brand spanking new job. Looks like the world is turning. A friend of mine recently started a new sales position which requires her to travel between LA and Seattle — very different climates.

Dear Fit,
I'm fairly thin, have muscular thighs from running 20 minutes a few times a week and toned arms from doing yoga, but my belly is pudgy. I heard crunches won't get rid of my gut, but what exercises will?

Countless crunches and multiple sets of Russian twists might tone your abs, but they're not so great for your back. Sienna Miller stood out amongst major fashion heads last night at the NYC premiere of The September Issue wearing an icy-blue confection by Thakoon. For extra panache, the cover star wore gold Jimmy Choo sandals, chandelier earrings, clear Lennon-esque sunnies, and a fancy Bottega Veneta woven clutch.

Many of the women in my Pilates and yoga classes ask how they can get a trim and toned middle. Aside from doing cardio to reduce overall body fat, exercises that target the core muscles are key. Crunches on an exercise ball, Pilates 100s, the always challenging Bicycle Crunches, and Reverse Curls are all essential exercises when it comes to strengthening your abs.
