A couple of weeks ago, I went to grab dinner at Pizzeria Delfina, my favorite local pizza joint. The trendy restaurant is always packed, and although it doesn't take reservations, I normally don't mind going early to put my name on the chalkboard. However, the wait ended up being two hours on a Wednesday night!

Today at the gym I realized that like almost every other day, a crowd of people gather around one of the fitness rooms before group exercise classes. Several people start waiting a good 10-15 minutes before the class starts and I can't help but think what a waste of time that is.
If you find yourself waiting around for a class or machine, make use of that time.

DearSugar and Willing to Wait Whitley need your help. She and her boyfriend broke up because he moved away, but when he recently came back for a visit, it seemed as though nothing changed. They still love each other, so should she wait for him to see if it could possibly work out later down the road, or should she move on with her life?

I tried to get a free Jamba Juice yesterday, but when I got there, the line was ridiculously long. At that point I decided that the free $4 drink wasn't worth the wait and went back to my desk. A lot of the folks at the Sugar HQ were also complaining about how long the line was, however I know several people who did end up waiting in line.

Dear Sugar,
A year ago, I met the most perfect man online. Ever since then, not a day has not gone by that we don’t talk to each other. We have even discussed me moving to his city so we can be closer.

Yesterday I went through my day and payed attention to all the times I am waiting. I waited in line at the grocery store, 5 minutes. I waited for the super-duper slow elevator here at Sugar HQ, 5 minutes.

As we're all relaxing over Labor Day Weekend, I wanted to cook up a Buzzworthy challenge in the spirit of celebrating the working stiffs among us. So, I want you to track down some of your favorite books about work — good jobs, bad jobs, and everything in between.
I'm starting you off with Studs Terkel's Working, a classic in which the author interviewed people about what they do all day and why.

DearSugar --
The man that I have been in love with for several years is finally divorced. He called at first and I just didn't give him the green light because I felt that he needed some time alone, or playing the field before starting up a relationship. When I did not jump in, I think he felt a bit rejected and he hasn't called in a couple of months.

In the five years my kids have been going to the pediatrician, I don't think we've ever spent more than five minutes in the waiting room. Whether my children were scheduled for shots, ailing or just attending an annual appointment, the nurse has promptly ushered us to an exam room to wait on the doctor. In talking to other mothers, I know not all practices are this efficient — parents complain of keeping their healthy kids from hacking and crouping youngsters in the holding area.
