We wouldn't leave our pets out of a family party in the backyard and the same is true for the first family including Bo in some fun. Michelle (and Malia) walk their Portuguese Water Dog down to the South Lawn to attend a luau hosted by President Barack Obama for members of Congress and their families yesterday. I think I see a wagging tail!

Sedative Hypnotic Drug Warnings
In March 2007, the FDA ordered stronger warning labels on sedative hypnotic drugs. These medications include benzodiazepine and non-benzodiazepine drugs, such as zolpidem (Ambien), eszopiclone (Lunesta), ramelteon (Rozerem), and triazolam (Halcion). The FDA warned that these drugs may be associated with:
- Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) and severe facial swelling (angioedema), which can occur even the first time a drug is taken
- Complex sleep-related behaviors, such as sleep driving, making phone calls, and preparing and eating food while asleep
Patients who take sleeping pills should be sure to follow the directions.

When the only time your dog sees the car or crate is come vet time, chances are he'll figure it out! Start those unseasoned travelers sooner-rather-than-later with short drives around town. Instead of walking to a park, visit one a little further away.

In the midst of the travel season, we have a simple tip to share. When flying with children, especially tiny ones, you want to ensure that their little ears are protected. As adults, we can easily pop the air out of our ears when the altitude changes, but poor babes have no idea how to take care of themselves.

If you are dieting or trying to save some dough, you should really be brown bagging your lunch. Make it at home and take it with you wherever you may roam. You not only save money (sandwiches can be upwards of $7 around where I work), but you also can control your portions and calorie intake.
