Dear Fit,
I have been running for two years, consistently 30-minute runs, three mornings a week. A friend of mine who's training for a half marathon convinced me to sign up too, and I'm really excited about my first race. Ryan Gosling looked smokin' as he enjoyed a protein shake on the way out of 24 Hour Fitness in LA yesterday. Whether Ryan is beefing up for a role or just wants to keep looking sexy in those t-shirts, no complaints here about a guy who understands the importance of sharing his manjoyment with the world.

Eating well and exercising regularly work together to promote overall health, but when it comes to weight management, the two factors do not act equally. Consuming fewer calories for weight loss is old news, and a recent study suggests exercise is less influential at burning fat than previously thought.
The new research, involving 65 exercisers with controlled diets, disproves the notion that exercise boosts fat burning up to 24 hours after working out.

There never seems to be enough time in 24 hours to accomplish everything and still get a good night's sleep, and the feeling is only accentuated when kids are in the picture. Mom-of-two Jennifer Garner is all too familiar with time constraints and has recently started working out again after giving birth to her baby, Seraphina Rose, a few months ago.
Jennifer works out under the guidance of her trainer Valerie Waters, who offers advice to new moms that could work for anyone without much time in their schedule for fitness.

24 co-creator Joel Surnow has a project about a different government up his sleeve. This weekend, he'll be pitching a 10-hour miniseries about the Kennedy family, with "a major US cable network" already in talks to release it.
Surnow is an avowed conservative, but the producers say the project "is neither a hatchet job nor a valentine."
