I'm sure most of us couldn't imagine a life without bread: sandwiches, toast, bread baskets, bread bowls, and so forth. It is an integral part of our food culture and seems to be a major player in every meal. However, with the rise of low carb diets, the concept of "good carbs" and "bad carbs," plus the new offerings of "whole wheat" everything, it's easy to get confused about which breads are healthy and which are not.

Memorial Day signals the official start of backyard barbecues. If you’ve got to splurge on a burger, make it a healthy one, like this Southwestern Burger. The lean protein satisfies and the salsa adds fiber.

I am so excited for this weekend - my boyfriend and I are heading up to Lake Shasta to go house boating with a bunch of close friends. We also have a ski boat and a pair of jet skis waiting for us! It's been really hot in SF the past few days and I can't wait to jump in the lake!
