That is the title the always calm and rational Wall Street Journal put on its editorial on November 1 about the government health care takeover bill that passed the House last week on virtually a party line vote, 220-215. But even this label doesn't fully communicate the outright assault on the American people involved in this legislation.

A growing number of plans offer specially trained case managers to help patients during a major illness.
Different from disease-management programs, which focus on patients with a chronic condition such as asthma or diabetes, the case-management services are for patients with costly and complex medical conditions such as cancer or an organ transplant. These managers — typically nurses — help patients with everything from avoiding duplicated tests to finding the best-priced prescriptions and other services.

The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) remind Iowans that in addition to protecting their families, friends and neighbors from the spread of the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus, it’s important to remember to protect family pets from the illness, as well. People who are sick with H1N1 can spread the virus not only to humans, but to some animals.
The Departments are sharing this message following the confirmation of a case of H1N1 in an Iowa cat.
