Hi Fit,
I recently started running outdoors and am really enjoying it. It's started to cool off, and breathing in the cold air really burns my throat and lungs when I jog. Is there anything that can be done to prevent this?

In these days of hybrid cars and carbon credits, it is common knowledge that substances exhaled by autos and coal plants are harmful to our respiratory system. What may be surprising is the degree to which they may harm the brain—in some instances, as much as exposure to lead. A recent string of studies from all over the world suggests that common air pollutants such as black carbon, particulate matter and ozone can negatively affect vocabulary, reaction times and even overall intelligence.

The time has gone when people used to wear winter scarf only to protect them from cold. Now people want both style and protection from cold. Therefore a winter scarf these days is a combination of both style and function.

A New York bicycle cabbie who last year used his Web site to mock the beheading of journalist Daniel Pearl posted a prayer calling for the murder of Jews and exhorting Muslims to “throw liquid drain cleaner in their faces." And there's nothing authorities can do about it.
Yousef al-Khattab, who runs RevolutionMuslim.com and pedals a pedicab in New York City, insists the words he has posted on his Web site are a prayer, and not a threat — and that his hatred is protected by the First Amendment.

I got my cat Grendel about 8 months ago from the Humane Society. I have a small studio apt with no outdoor access, so I've been really worried about him getting bored. He's REALLY needy, and I can't tell if I'm not stimulating him enough or spoiling him rotten.

I'm a regular at the gym, but during spring I had a chance to move some of my workouts outside - walking or running on a lakeshore trail, hanging out in the park - and I loved it! Now it's started to get ridiculously hot, even early in the morning, so it's harder for me to take that run outdoors. Any suggestions for getting in a satisfying workout outside of the gym without getting heat stroke?

So you have been living next to this Jewish family for 27 years. They take their religious practice seriously and you have come to recognize the multifarious rituals.

“What the….?@!,” Janet gasped in horror. Janet and her boyfriend were making their way toward Centertown in their late model Audi on I-68. Better known as The River Highway, I-68 hugged the Center River, providing for a scenic drive.

Accounting for California’s Suicide
A weird sort of utopian mindset.

What went wrong in California? I think we can all agree on at least three observations.
