When I found out I was two months pregnant (five years ago), I was obviously surprised, because my husband and I always used a condom and I had been taking the pill religiously for years. AND I had my normal period for those two months. The only reason I thought something was wrong was because every summer when the weather changes to really really hot, I get sick and can’t eat, etc.

In these days of hybrid cars and carbon credits, it is common knowledge that substances exhaled by autos and coal plants are harmful to our respiratory system. What may be surprising is the degree to which they may harm the brain—in some instances, as much as exposure to lead. A recent string of studies from all over the world suggests that common air pollutants such as black carbon, particulate matter and ozone can negatively affect vocabulary, reaction times and even overall intelligence.

"It's premature to be telling people this," she told PEOPLE while fighting back tears.

Considering this is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I though this would be a good post.
There's no part of our bodies that we obsess about more than our breasts. Even those of us not prone to health anxiety wonder which, if any, of our everyday habits are upping our odds of getting breast cancer.

An Unnecessary Operation
Obamacare threatens what's right with American health care.
by Fred Barnes
This is the poll number that drives supporters of Obamacare crazy: Eighty-nine percent of Americans in a June 2008 ABC News/USA Today/Kaiser Family Foundation survey said they were satisfied with their health care. Put another way, more than 270 million Americans (I'm including kids) are reasonably happy with the system of medical care in this country.

In honor of Reading Is Sexy's grand opening, I'm going to start off with the series that's has been holding me in a chockhold for going on 10 years now.
Nora Roberts, writing as JD Robb in her not so far distant future has captured my attention since my very good friend lend me a copy of the 1st of the series, Naked In Death. That copy started me on my 10 year journey of hunting and gathering mission to find and read every one of the books in the series.

When my doctor told me I needed weekly nonstress tests due to excess amniotic fluid, I assumed I would dread them as they would become another task to add to my already insanely hectic schedule. In one week alone, I've attended a wedding in Sun Valley, ID, celebrated my birthday, moved houses, and attended two doctor's appointments.
As I sat at my house waiting on the cable guy, my nanny chatted my ear off and I chummed it up with my friendly neighbor.
