Hi Fit,
I recently started running outdoors and am really enjoying it. It's started to cool off, and breathing in the cold air really burns my throat and lungs when I jog. Is there anything that can be done to prevent this?

In these days of hybrid cars and carbon credits, it is common knowledge that substances exhaled by autos and coal plants are harmful to our respiratory system. What may be surprising is the degree to which they may harm the brain—in some instances, as much as exposure to lead. A recent string of studies from all over the world suggests that common air pollutants such as black carbon, particulate matter and ozone can negatively affect vocabulary, reaction times and even overall intelligence.

She might be a bona fide California beach girl, but even Lauren Conrad admits to slacking in the exercise department sometimes. For her second Shape cover (her first was January 2008), the New York Times best-selling author chats about her romance with actor Kyle Howard and her new clothing line for Kohl’s while sitting pretty for three very different cover shots. Are we excited? I am, because with the exception on Nip/Tuck I have been relegated to watching Family Guy marathons, because I have absolutely no tv to watch. I guess Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice count as well, but they’ve been sucking lately so I tend to forget about them.

Before you beat yourself up about how you've only once visited the swanky gym you joined last year, think about whether you enjoy the exercise that you do there. If the idea that physical activity can instill anything other than dread seems shocking, it may be time to reconsider your exercise choices.
"The most important thing about exercise is consistency," says Bryant Stamford, PhD, a professor and director of the Health Promotion Center at the University of Louisville.

Project codename wackdoodle - I think I'm the newest and squishiest Transformer.
However, I maybe the smartest Transformer cause I successfully got out of my expensive gym membership without paying any penalties. Go wack, it's your birthday (thank goodness it isn't - don't need to be 37 yet)!
