CEOs Rate Obama's Performance
by Joseph Weber, Christopher Palmeri, and the BusinessWeek staff
To some top executives, President Barack Obama is "rapidly socializing the United States." Others see his initiatives on everything from healthcare reform to the saving of GM as crucial for sparing the U.S. from even deeper economic trouble.

The “Bitch” and the “Ditz”
How the Year of the Woman reinforced the two most pernicious sexist stereotypes and actually set women back.
By Amanda Fortini/NY Times

In the past few weeks, Sarah Palin has been variously described as a diva who engaged in paperwork-throwing tantrums, a shopaholic who spent $150,000 on clothing, a seductress who provocatively welcomed staffers while wearing only a towel, and a “whack-job”—contemporary code for hysteric. Worse, she was accused by a suspiciously gleeful Fox News reporter named Carl Cameron of not knowing Africa was a continent, of being unable to name the members of NAFTA, indeed of being unable to name the countries of North America at all.

In the gospel according to Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke, “there are no atheists in foxholes and no ideologues in financial crises.” Suddenly, we are all pragmatists, trying to dig our way out of the Wall Street rubble with whatever tools are at hand.
Well, there is some truth in that. But I think we are still capable of emotional multitasking, holding anger in one hand and fear in the other while grasping for a solution.

Preface - I had a really geeky moment the other day, weekend, whatever it was haha. I got a keyboard cover for my MacBook (the iSkin), an iLap (some stand to keep it cool, raindrop style), and a touch pad cover thing (apparently I care more about my Mac's looks than my own).
I would like to add that the iLap and iSkin serve dual purposes which I LOVE.

It's been a month since my ex-boyfriend broke up with me (his father didn't approve of our relationship because I'm not from the same religious background..and he's the only son of the family so there is a lot of pressure on him..which I (ironically) understand. yet he, my ex, knew what my background was before he asked me out (I'm guessing he hoped his dad would be more open-minded..).
Anyway we dated for two months before that happened, and during that time we saw eachother more than I saw my previous boyfriend with whom I was with for over a year!
