Try this miso-marinated cod satay from the trendy Asian eatery Tao in New York City. Not only is it low in fat, but it is also packed with protein, vitamin A and folate.
Serves: 2
Ingredients:
Marinade 1 cup sake (found in Asian grocery stores)
1 cup mirin (found in Asian grocery stores)
1 cup miso (found in Asian grocery stores)
1 cup sugar 1/2 cup chopped ginger
1/2 cup chopped garlic Satay
2 pieces cod (2 oz each, about 3 x 3/4 inches)
4 jumbo stalks peeled asparagus (4 inches)
1 tbsp olive oil 1 tbsp minced chives
Directions:
Combine marinade ingredients.

This is from Totally Dairy-Free Cooking by Louis Lanza and although I haven't actually tried it yet, it sounds delicious! I have enjoyed most of the recipes from this book, so I'll try it soon, but in the meantime, if anyone's brave enough to try it, be sure to let us know how it is!
3 cups cremini mushrooms
1 Tbs minced garlic
1 Tbs minced shallots
1 Tbs balsamic vinegar
Salt and black pepper
1 cup green lentils
1/2 cup walnut pieces
1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
1 tsp ground bay leaves

2 tsp barley miso
3 Tbs olive oil
Toasted pita wedges, rice cakes, or Belgian endive, for serving
Preheat oven to 350.

Hubby and I went out for some yummy sushi! I had some miso soup and we shared edamame, fried yellow tail cheek, and sushi/ rolls- tuna, soft shell crab, Camaron (tempura shrimp), eel, and Sushi Special #10 ( fried yellow tail with cream cheese). I'm stuffed!

Ingredients
(14oz) ground pork
1 garic clove
3-4 shiitake mushroom
2 cakes of tofu
(1 2/3cups) chicken broth
1Tbs Toubanjan( Chinese hot sauce)
1Tbs Tenmenjan( Korean soy paste)
1 Tbs miso (Japanese soy paste
1Tbs soy sauce
1tbs vegetable oil
1tbs sake( if any)
1Tbs sesami oil
3Tbs cornstarch
This is the kind of recipe that is easy to make and takes like 15-20 minutes. First cook the pork 'til grey then throw everything else in for about 15 minutes and add constarch to adjust thickness. DONE!

Singapore Chilli Crab
Ingredients
1 lb (450g) mud crabs or soft shelled crabs
4 tbsp plain flour if using soft shelled crabs
3 tbsp vegetable oil*
8 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
8 fresh red chilli, roughly chopped
1 egg
2 spring onions (scallions), cut into finger length
1 tsp freshly squeezed lime or lemon juice
1 small bunch coriander plant (cilantro)
*For soft-shelled crabs, oil for deep frying
Mix together for Sauce
1 cup of water, 5 tbsp tomato catsup, 1 1/2 to 3 tbsp sugar, or according to taste, 1 1/2 tsp cornflour, 1 tsp pounded brown preserved soya beans or dark miso (optional), 1/4 tsp salt
Method
Heat the oil in a wok or shallow saucepan over high heat. Add garlic and stir-fry for 1 minute. Add the chilli, stir-fry till fragrant.
