Hey there, sugars!
I have somewhat recently become totally lactose intolerant... as in, no butter, no cheese, no yogurt...

Maybe I'm being irrational, but I'd like to submit for everyone a problem I have with my boyfriend. I don't need to, but I'll start by saying he's a great guy... tells me every day he loves me, is always very respectful and appreciative for the things I do for him. However, we are at different levels of comfort with roommate situations.

I wanted to find out once and for all if goat cheese is more tolerable than cow's milk. (I'm a little afraid to try it myself to see what it does to my system)! I know I should take one for the team and try to find out, but I think lactose intolerances are individual and vary from person to person.

There is much talk about milk and how it affects your body and its relation to several illnesses. For me, I was urged by my doctors to lay off the moo juice and its products to help alleviate my symptoms of Endometriosis. So far, it has worked and has done wonders for my digestive system (as well as my weight)!

I hated having to give up cheese, but feeling better was much more important! In my quest for "fake" cheese, I have found several alternatives.
Here's the skinny:
Rice cheese: I think is the tastiest, especially for sandwiches, BUT it contains casein-a dried milk protein that enables the cheese to melt.

Ok, I first posted that goat cheese had very little lactose in it (I was told by the "Cheese Expert" at Whole Foods this and that it was a good alternative to cow's milk)...Well now, in doing some research, (see previous post, The Hidden Cow), that goat's milk has nearly as much lactose as cow's milk and is not suitable for those with a lactose intolerance.
Although, when I ate goat's milk, I did not find that I had any adverse effects from it, so I suggest, like anything, try it in moderation.

Alrighty.. I'm probably one of the younger members here, but I do love this site and found it might be a better place to go than to my friends.
I'm sixteen years of age, and have entered my second relationship, this time with a male.
