The British government said Friday that it plans to ban private organ transplants from dead donors to allay fears that prospective recipients can buy their way to the front of the line.
A government-commissioned report recommended that organs donated within the state-run National Health Service should stay within the public health system, which provides universal care to everyone who lives in Britain. Though transplants are free, there are often long waiting lists.

MN doctors find promising treatment for fatal skin disease

Doctors at the University of Minnesota say they've found a promising treatment for a dreadful genetic skin disease that affects children and has always been fatal up to now.
The treatment - a transplant of stem cells obtained from his brother's bone marrow - has given new hope for Nate Liao, a 25-month-old from Clarksburg, N.J., and potentially other patients suffering from the same and similar diseases, the doctors said. Those young patients include another one of Nate's brothers.

In March of ‘07 Johnny Depp’s seven-year-old daughter Lily-Rose was rushed to hospital with E.coli blood poisoning, and stayed for nine days before she made a full recovery. Johnny Depp has spoken of her illness, telling Entertainment Weekly “To say it was the darkest moment, that’s nothing.” He also said every milli-second of having his daughter well was like a celebration. Now he’s truly celebrated with the staff who took care of her at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Well, after almost two and a half seasons and countless fakeouts, we finally, FINALLY, FINALLY know why Locke was in a wheelchair for four years. And it's pretty fucked up.
We also learn that Locke's father is probably the most evil person on the show.

An Awesome book!
Adult/High School - Anna was genetically engineered to be a perfect match for her cancer-ridden older sister. Since birth, the 13-year-old has donated platelets, blood, her umbilical cord, and bone marrow as part of her family's struggle to lengthen Kate's life.
