My favorite workout DVD is Banish Fat Boost Metabolism with Jillian Michaels. I love that you get a great cardio workout and you don't need a lot of space or any equipment. I usually do this workout about once a week to give myself a break from the monotony of gym cardio, and I never get sick of it - it's still challenging to me even though I know my overall fitness level has improved.

Eating healthy can be hard for moms who have picky kids to feed. So today (as part of the Get Fit for 2010 challenge) I'm sharing one of my favorite healthy family recipes for Asian inspired green beans. It's low in fat, high in fiber, and dairy-free making it perfect for vegetarians and those with diet restrictions.

Over the course of my career servicing clients, I saw many toxic shades tragically take up real estate at the tips of many fingers. I myself do not wear nail lacquer but am well versed in the area as it was my profession for so long. I had to admit that although it may look nice initially, I always hated it because color on our nails is anything but nautral unless were using henna and applying it for some kind of cultural ceramony.
After getting sick from nail products, yes even those lovely litlle nail colors, it changed the way I looked at color and it changed the way my clients wore color. Clients came to me knowing I didn't offer it. Since cosmetic safety is such a big concern and is always in the spot light, women were beginning to understand that natural was sexy and more than that, it was healthy. Who doesn't think being healthy is sexy? I mean we go to the gym and try to eat right so we look good and thank god natural beauty is making a comeback.
If you also think about how quickly it chips and how bad it taste even a week after it's painte on, then think about how many of you are letting your babies suck on your fingers with this toxic nail polish, it becomes an even more tragic ritual.

While layin in bed a little while ago i though, man, if only I had more cojones in life. I mean, can you imagine how much more I could accomplish? For example, I might have had a different answer when my manager asked me "What is your dream job?"

- breakfast: coffee with a splash (1/4 cup total) unsweetened original flavor almond milk, 1/2 cup fat-free plain greek yogurt, 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- post gym: 1 apple
- lunch: 3 oz almonds from starbucks (i was running around and really pressed for time, it was the best thing i could grab quickly to fill me up, and i spaced it over a 3 hour period)
- snack: 1 cup baby carrots with 3 tbsp hummus
- dinner: imagine foods creamy tomato basil soup with 1 cup cherry tomatos added
- dessert: 1 cup frozen raspberries, 1/2 cup pistachios in shell
i know the fat content was high yesterday, but on days when i am really busy or stressed, my emphasis turns more to caloric quantity rather than caloric quality. today, i'm going to be more sensible about it, though. i already have my day planned out
