WASHINGTON (AP) -- Sarah Palin's new book reprises familiar claims from the 2008 presidential campaign that haven't become any truer over time. Ignoring substantial parts of her record if not the facts, she depicts herself as a frugal traveler on the taxpayer's dime, a reformer without ties to powerful interests and a politician roguishly indifferent to high ambition.
Palin goes adrift, at times, on more contemporary issues, too.

Hi,
My mother has been a resident of the State of FL for 26 years now. She has not had health insurance since the death of my father 7 years ago. Due to her economic standards she is unable to afford health insurance and her place of work does not offer it to their employees.

I work for a company that publishes a free magazine for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers. Our editor,Kathy, is a 20-year-breast cancer survivor. She's a wonderful advocate for survivors of any cancer and has just started a new magazine for cancer survivors called Heal.

When I hear about a woman choosing to undergo an elective double mastectomy, I feel sad that even in this age of modern medicine the treatment options for breast cancer still include such a drastic and disfiguring procedure. At the same time, I find her courage inspirational because I wonder if I would be strong enough to make the same decision.

On Valentines Day my Freshman year of High School my life as I knew it came to stand still, that was the day my mom got the chilling news that she had breast cancer. The rest of the year was spent fighting off this horrible disease, doing anything and everything possible for her to survive. By the end of the year things were looking brigther.

My mother, my aunt on my dad's side, my aunt on my mom's side, and more women in my family have had breast cancer. They are incredibly strong and have passed on to the next generation of our family the need for attention to this issue on both a personal level and global level.
Its as easy as clicking on this link to donate a mamogram!
