Why Shovel-Ready Infrastructure is Wrong (Right Now)
The term “shovel-ready"—as in, infrastructure projects that are ready or almost ready to begin—has become a favorite of policy makers in recent weeks. As the Senate gets ready to vote on a stimulus bill, it looks like the idea has stuck: The latest bill gives only projects that are able to start construction within 90 days eligibility for funding from the $90 billion set aside for infrastructure. Here is why the shovel-ready mandate could make the

The term arrived with all the muscle and blue-collar authority of a bulldozer: “shovel-ready.” As in, infrastructure projects that are ready or almost ready to begin, the antithesis of some dimly imagined earmark or budget-sucking bridge to nowhere.

There were two teeny old bridges that had to go to make room for the new GIANT one. They blew them up in stages & I'll swear you could feel every one all over town. It was AWESOME!!

We took the boys to see Bridge to Terabithia this afternoon. Now, I've never read the book so I can't compare it to that, but the movie was really good.
I was expecting more fantasy-type scenes (there were hardly any), and after about 30 minutes, I was getting concerned my 4 year old wouldn't sit still throughout the entire movie.

BAGHDAD — In its largest reconstruction effort since the Marshall Plan, the United States government has spent $53 billion for relief and reconstruction in Iraq since the 2003 invasion, building tens of thousands of hospitals, water treatment plants, electricity substations, schools and bridges.
But there are growing concerns among American officials that Iraq will not be able to adequately maintain the facilities once the Americans have left, potentially wasting hundreds of millions of dollars and jeopardizing Iraq’s ability to provide basic services to its people.
The projects run the gamut — from a cutting-edge, $270 million water treatment plant in Nasiriya that works at a fraction of its intended capacity because it is too sophisticated for Iraqi workers to operate, to a farmers’ market that farmers cannot decide how to share, to a large American hospital closed immediately after it was handed over to Iraq because the government was unable to supply it with equipment, a medical staff or electricity.

We should bridge the gap in all things that could lead us to greatness.
Knowledge should never divide us, it should bring us together even when we are NOT in a time of need.

Will Phillips isn't like other boys his age.
For one thing, he's smart. Scary smart.

This was just a really adorable movie. Not really suitable for young children, but I think kids who understand or have gone through a death in the family or death of a pet could handle this movie, maybe starting at age 9-11?
I love the imaginations that the kids have in this movie.

Wow Monday already, the week went by fast and here I am posting another kick ass trailer!
It's about an 11-year-old boy who has his life changed forever when he befriends the class outsider, a girl. Together they create the world of Terabithia, an imaginary kingdom filled with giants, trolls and other magical beings.
