Major U.S. foodmakers are quietly investigating how to rid their containers of Bisphenol A, a chemical under scrutiny by federal regulators concerned about links to a range of health problems, including reproductive disorders and cancer.
But they are discovering how complicated it is to remove the chemical, which is in the epoxy linings of nearly every metal can on supermarket shelves and leaches into foods such as soup, liquid baby formula and soda.

These are some of my favorite dairy-free (and some meat-free) products that I stock my refrigerator and pantry with.
Mirin cooking wine: a wonderful addition to marinades and other sauces. It tends to erase, or lessen the fishy smell in broiled or baked fish.

Want to buy some candles that actually smell up a room and tired of paying over $20 for just one candle? Even though these candles are a little more than I would pay for on a daily basis, I really LOVE these candles. They are all home made and they really smell up a room and last forever.

The same friend that sent me the link to the 365 crockpot recipes also included the recipes and assembly directions for how to make "10 casseroles in 3 hours". That might be a little deceiving because it's actually only 5 different recipes, but they make double portions. Anyway, I thought I would pass this information on to you all, just in case you might have a free afternoon to make all of these.

I hope everyone had a nice holiday. I had the honor of cooking dinner for a small group of four people. The meal was vegetarian (actually vegan, except for one dessert), mostly organic, with no added sugar and nothing refined.
