The Absolutely Worst Bill Ever
By Peter Ferrara on 11.11.09 @ 6:08AM
"The Worst Bill Ever." That is the title the always calm and rational Wall Street Journal put on its editorial on November 1 about the government health care takeover bill that passed the House last week on virtually a party line vote, 220-215. But even this label doesn't fully communicate the outright assault on the American people involved in this legislation.

-Man asks woman to marry him on sign
-Next sign says they are breaking up
-Locals not sure if it is a stunt
IT could be one of the most embarrassing public break-ups of all time.
A woman named Jennifer has become the talk of Sydney's northern beaches after she was unceremoniously dumped via telegraph pole on the area's busiest road yesterday.
In the early hours her supposed lover erected five separate signs on what is known as the Bilgola bends on Barrenjoey Rd, Avalon, the main arterial access to the rest of Sydney for those living in Avalon and Palm Beach, The Daily Telegraph reports.

Republicans in Congress have raised the specter of a bloated, "socialized," bureaucrat-run nightmare of a health care system as a means of undermining the White House's effort at a systematic overhaul. And yet, as Democratic sources are now pointing out, when medical crisis hit close to home, many of these same officials turned to a government-run hospital for their own intensive care and difficult surgeries.
Take, for instance, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who warned that "a government takeover of health care" would "take away the care that people already have [and] are perfectly satisfied with."

Microscopic nanobees 'sting cancer tumours to death'
Microscopic "nanobees" that literally sting tumours to death have been successfully used to fight cancer by researchers in America.
Published: 10:00PM BST 10 Aug 2009
The US scientists unleashed swarms of the tiny artificial particles on human breast and skin tumours in mice.
Each spherical "nanobee", measuring just three millionths of an inch across, was armed with a cancer-killing toxin found in bee venom.

What an amazing story
When the shark clamped its jaws on his forearm and wouldn’t let go, Luis Hernandez knew it was going to take a miracle for him to escape with his life.
Fortunately for the 48-year-old South Florida man, his wife, who was sitting in their anchored boat, was up to the task. Although she is only 5-foot-2 and 108 pounds, petite Marlene Hernandez somehow managed to haul up the boat’s anchor, start the engine, race to her stricken husband and hoist his 160-pound body, mangled, useless arm and all, into their boat.

My primary goal is to arm parents with some medical knowledge about pain in the NICU so they can be better advocates for their babies.
BABIES AND PAIN
Unfortunately, not long ago many doctors believed that babies could not feel pain. However, all lines of evidence suggest that babies, even very premature babies, do indeed feel pain.
