Since knowledge is power, over the past year I've broken down many types of foods to reveal the calorie, saturated fat, and sodium content. Since I am interested in the healthy stuff too, I often included which foods offer the most fiber, protein, and calcium.
Duffy On The Verge Of Breakdown

British songbird Duffy says she's on the verge of a breakdown and doesn't know if she can handle the pressures of fame. Welcome to Hollywood!

She said, “I’m borderline on a nervous breakdown. I’m never calm any more. I think: ‘Can I handle this? Do I want to disappear?’”

Duffy also added that "It would be very easy to become a recluse.” She's really only been on the radar for less than a year and she's already caving? How do the Jonas Brothers and Miley's of the world do it? Most of the time they need post-its to remind them what cities they're in

omg

Brooke Hogan suffering breakdown

As much as I enjoy rampantly spreading Hogan-family hate, for once I actually feel empathy for them. Or at least one of them. Brooke Hogan is supposedly suffering from an emotional breakdown as the result of younger brother Nick’s incarceration and father Hulk Hogan’s affair with one of Brooke’s former friends.

Hulk Hogan’s 17-year-old son Nick Hogan was recently sentenced to eight months in prison after pleading no contest to charges of reckless driving in an accident that left his close friend critically injured. But friends of the “Hogan Knows Best” family are more concerned about his 20-year-old sister, Brooke Hogan, according to our source.

“She’s suffering the worst of all; she just can’t keep it together and has been hit the hardest,” said the source, adding that Brooke is “extremely sensitive” and her emotions are spiraling out of control. Brooke’s relationship with her father was severely strained after his reported infidelity with her former friend made news in February.

While our source said that Nick’s arrest has “brought them a little closer to reconciliation,” it’s not the case for Hulk and his wife, Linda. The estranged couple appeared together at Nick’s hearing on May 9, where Linda even flashed her wedding ring, apparently for the first time since news of the reported affair broke.

“Basically they were trying to put their best foot forward and fake a public image of unity and support for their son,” our insider said. “He [Hulk] is a very astute businessman and very good at playing the media - he even admitted in court that their reality show was scripted and not so real after all.”

[From Fox News’ Pop Tarts]

I always found Brooke to be pretty annoying, and lots of blogs have a love affair with mocking her. But of everyone in her family, she’s the one who really hasn’t done anything. Her younger brother committed a crime that left another man in a coma and in a quasi-vegetative state likely for the rest of his life. Her father cheated on her mother with Brooke’s friend. Linda Hogan has been videotaped encouraging Nick to drag race… and we all know what that led to.

Brooke certainly hasn’t done anything bad. She’s an easy target, but it seems like her family members are irresponsible and she’s left emotionally exhausted and overwhelmed from it. Hopefully her parents are still able to pay enough attention to her, despite their divorce, to get her some help.

http://www.celeb*tchy.com/11790/brooke_hogan_suffering_breakdown/

Mariah Carey backs Obama; says faith helped her recover from breakdown

always have to wonder what politicians think about some of their celebrity endorsements. I’m sure just about everyone would love to get the likes of George Clooney, Oprah, and Tom Hanks on their side. But what must they think when someone like Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, or Paris Hilton endorses a candidate? To be fair, I think it’s highly unlikely that any of those particular celebs even know who’s running for president… in fact they might not even be clear on who is currently the president. I’m pretty sure Paris thinks it’s Bush senior, and he’s just been there for a really long time. And while Mariah Carey is no Britney Spears (though they both have had a few public meltdowns), one can’t help but wonder if Barack Obama really wants her endorsement. How does one politely say, “Gee, thanks but no thanks,” to someone like Mimi, without getting a stiletto imprinted somewhere on your backside?

“Are you watching the debates?” asked Yo.

“Clearly I’m no political analyst. We all know that my album is called E=MC2 but I’m not exactly friggin Einstein,” joked the “Love Takes Time” singer. “So basically I like to leave that to people who know what they are talking about, but I am very much more focused on this moment in our history.”

“Have you picked anyone?” asked Yo.

“Yes, clearly,” she answered.

“Can you say?”

“That’s personal but it’s pretty obvious,” the entertainer replied.

“Come on Mariah, ‘Yes we can’ Mr. Barack Obama?’

Laughing, Carey came clean: “Yes we can!”

[From E!]

Like Britney Spears, Mariah also had a very public meltdown several years ago, nearly stripping off her clothes on MTV’s “TRL.” But instead of flaunting the crazy like Brit, Mariah checked herself into a hospital (for the classic celeb “exhaustion”), took some time off, got her sh*t together, and came back with her strongest album ever, 2005’s “ The Emancipation of Mimi.” Though Mariah has always stated she’s not in a position to give Britney Spears advice, she did say that what got her through her public meltdown was her faith, and that Britney’s still got a chance to make a comeback.

On life after the bomb that was 2001’s Glitter album and movie and her subsequent comeback, Carey pointed to her faith as a source of strength. “You know what, I never lost my faith in God and that’s the main thing,” she noted. “For me its about my personal relationship with God and just feeling centered and just not letting anything really penetrate that. That’s something that’s sacred for me that I have for myself no matter what.”

In light of the personal crisis Carey faced in the wake of Glitter’s failure when she checked herself into a hospital to be treated for an emotional and physical breakdown, Yo also got her take on the Britster’s current travails and whether or not the pop tart can recover.

“I think anybody who loves music and is committed to the game can do whatever. I never count people out, that’s just not in my nature but that is a part of human nature, people like to do that but with me especially with making this new record, its all about the music.”

[From E!]

Mariah’s right in that she’s no Einstein, but she’s clearly gotten her act together since her breakdown. It’s cool that she doesn’t pretend to know what’s best for Britney Spears; but it’d be nice if someone pointed out to Britney that there’s another singer out there who took a pretty big fall and managed to come out even stronger for it.

Britney To Reenact Breakdown On Stage

Britney Spears is well on her way back to the top, but she’s not forgetting about a time not too long ago when she had a total meltdown. And rather than sweep the situation under the rug and pretend it didn’t happen, Brit is embracing it.

According to a new report, Britney is going to act out she had a total meltdown on stage during her upcoming tour. She will dramatize the fall and recovery in a three-part stage show.

She is said to be drawing on her two toughest years to tell the story of a fallen star who joins the circus. And after an indoor thunderstorm, Britney will appear at the end of a rainbow for the grand finale.

That sounds incredible! Brit probably has the most talented people working on her show, so we’re sure it will blow people away. Take that, Kanye!

A tour insider tells The Sun, "The first act sees the miserable star run away to join the circus. This mirrors her slide into unhinged behavior. Her disturbing antics while suffering her meltdown are the focus of the second act, which takes place in the circus. Brit is seen having fun in this crazy world and falling in love with a circus freak. The final act focuses on Britney's salvation. She manages to pry herself away from the clutches of the circus to be reunited with her friends and family."

Genius! We love that the character of Adnan is being portrayed as a circus freak! She’d better get rehearsing! Brit kicks off her tour in March.
New Mommy Breakdown

So, I had my first new mommy breakdown last night. Anyone reading this who is a mom may know what I am talking about. I had convinced myself that I had made the biggest mistake ever by having a baby and I would completely ruin her and had absolutely no idea what I was doing.

The evening started out well enough. I found some Disney playlists on Imeem, and had Audrey upstairs in her room and had her in her bouncy seat while I danced around singing along with the songs and making her stuffies dance for her as well. Then I picked her up to dance with me and we just had a good ol' time.

When she started to fuss, I brought her downstairs for her bottle, but she didn't want it and even acted a bit offended that I would think she wanted it - lol. Suddenly she was very upset and nothing I did helped. Not hungry, not wet, not happy with me trying to burp her etc. So I started freaking out just a touch - "Maybe she has an ear infection because I got soapy water in her ears and didn't let them drain well enough after her bath yesterday", "Maybe she hates the way I am holding her", "maybe she's cold", "maybe she's hot", "Did I hurt her neck at all when we were dancing? OMG what if I've hurt her!"

Thank goodness for my mother-in-law. She finally came downstairs to see what all the fuss was about and really talked me off the ledge. Really I had just over-stimulated her a bit. At 3 months, she's not ready for all that activity, and I might have mixed her tummy up a bit when we were dancing - lol - plus, MIL told me she hadn't taken her afternoon nap. I held her tight while she continued to fuss until she fell asleep. She woke up after about a half hour and was fine for the rest of the night, easily slipping back into our routine.

I just love her to bits; but what a rollercoaster ride!

Sides/Options:
0 Broccoli
3 Rice Pilaf
3 Baked Potato (plain)
4 Cheddar Bay Biscuit (1)

Dishes:
2 Mussels (3oz)
2 Flounder (5oz) - most baked or grilled white fish is b/w 2-4 PTS
3 Deep Sea Scallops (not from a good sustainable source)
3 Bayou Style Seafood Gumbo (6oz)
3 Shrimp Scampi (Lunch)
3 Grilled Shrimp

3 Garlic-Grilled Jumbo Shrimp
3 1 ¼ lb Live Main Lobster
6 1lb Snow Crab Legs ( 3 for 1/2lb)
6 Sailor’s Platter (Lunch)
8 Shrimp & Chicken Dinner
11 1 ½ lb King Crab Legs
