When I workout, I'm looking for clothes that are comfortable, well-made, reasonably priced, and flattering. I want clothes that can withstand more than a few washes, and support my active lifestyle (and my curves).

I found a new company that fits the bill - Stonewear Designs. Their tank tops are really unique, like nothing I've ever seen. I love all the criss-crossy straps, and the styles with the higher necks (you don't want your ladies popping out while working out). These tops are perfect for walking, hiking, biking, rock climbing, strength training, Yoga, and Pilates. Many of the styles have support bras attached, so you could even do some jogging.

Another great thing about Stonewear Designs is their goal: to make clothing that helps women feel good about their bodies. I love that, and I love these tops.

Get Your Butt in Gear: ISIS

Serena Williams Named Woman of the Year

Looks like having a potty mouth won't hurt you too much. Serena Williams is one of 11 outstanding ladies Glamour magazine has chosen for its Women of the Year issue.

Glamour cites Williams's competitive spirit and drive as a testament to her success, even in the face of hardships like the tragic murder of her sister Yetunde and her rise through the rankings after suffering injuries in 2006. This year it all came full circle for Williams when she captured the Wimbledon victory against her sister, Venus - whom she credits as being a major force in motivating her to work the hardest and become the best.

Besides her Wimbledon victory, Williams has 11 Grand Slam titles, two Olympic gold medals, and has earned more prize money than any female athlete in history. But her trophies and bank account aren't the only reason Glamour thinks Williams is tops. Between winning matches, she's managed to start her own clothing line, pen an autobiography, and open a school in Kenya through her Serena Williams Foundation.

Who else did Glamour name as Women of the Year? Some of the other notables Williams holds court with are Michelle Obama, Maria Shriver, Rihanna, and poet Maya Angelou.

I love supporting companies with the for women by women mentality -- There needs to be more companies like that if you ask me.

This is why I want to tell you about we pilates clothing, a cute, simple and comfortable (that's important) line of gear. The company got started rather simply as well: After a Pilates workout, two women were inspired to create the perfect life style line that could take them from their devoted practice to also running around town. Who is the woman that wears we pilates clothing? She is a businesswoman, a mom, and a professional. I can definitely relate, can't you?

Besides the fact that we pilates is run by women, I also like this line because while there are lots of fancy-schmancy clothing lines out there, sometimes you just want to throw on a soft cotton tee and go about your day. Support Breast Cancer Awareness With Beyond Yoga

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Beyond Yoga, one of my favorite brands of fitness clothes, is offering some unique pink products. The company is donating 30 percent of the proceeds from the sale of these I Am Beyond . . . Hopeful water bottles ($36) and its Lift and Support Bra ($64) to the Women's Cancer Research Fund. Every sale will support research, education, and outreach for the early diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of female cancers. A minimum of $4 will be donated for every water bottle sold, and a $10 donation will be made for every bra sold.

Glee's Amber Riley Weighs In on the Hollywood Skinny

If you watch Glee, then you probably know Amber Riley as Mercedes - the gal that brought the house down on last week's episode singing Jill Scott's "Hate on Me." Like the feisty character she portrays, Amber told Life and Style magazine that as a full-figured actress, it's important to be happy with yourself. She says,

“You’re not your dress size, you’re not your shoe size, you’re not your pants size. If I’m going to wear a name tag, it’s going to say ‘Amber Riley,’ not ‘Fat Girl’!”

The self-admitted shoeaholic, Amber likes formfitting clothes rather than "plus-size clothes that look like tents." She has a shape and she wants to show it. This young actress rocks a size 16, looks up to Queen Latifah and Jennifer Hudson, and is brimming with confidence. In Hollywood, a land where it is rare for women to be satisfied with their looks, body, and weight, I find her positive body image refreshing. How about you?

Jenna Fischer Is the Office Hottie

I'm a huge fan of The Office, mostly because I've loved following the romance between the adorable receptionist Pam and her co-worker, now husband, Jim Halpert. Check out the cover of the November issue of Shape to see that Jenna Fischer, who plays the down-to-earth Pam, is smokin' hot once she takes off her cardigan and pearls. This wasn't always the case though.

After a horrible accident two years ago, falling down a flight of stairs and breaking her back in four places, Jenna became depressed and felt a little sorry for herself. So she drowned her sorrows with cheeseburgers and doughnuts, which led to some weight gain - 10 pounds. But once she fully recovered, Jenna started hiking with friends, cutting back on the high fat indulgences, and lost a few pounds this way. Although her life was growing hectic and she wanted to lose a few more pounds, she ditched her trainer and worked out on her own at home or hit the gym five days a week. This busy actress continues this routine to stay in shape. Jenna says, "I’m lucky because my fiancé will work out with me, and we keep each other motivated." Now she's thrilled to be back in size 26 jeans.

Proving that she is as down to earth as the character she portrays weekly, Jenna offers some simple wisdom on body image: "If I could tell women one thing, it would be that everyone worries about their bodies and what they look like in their clothes . . . But rather than complain about it, we should be laughing at our imperfections to make ourselves feel better."

Eve on Whipping Herself Into Shape

Are you excited for the roller derby romp Whip It? I know I sure am. Hip-hop artist Eve skates her way through the film, and she spoke recently with Women's Health about developing a dependence on Tiger Balm, her relationship with her trainer, and keeping her "booty in order."

The actors participated in a three-week skate camp to prepare for their roller derby role. About the camp Eve said, "I used a lot of Tiger Balm. I felt like an 80-year-old woman."

In addition to skate camps, Eve works with a trainer, who even checks up on her when she's on the road since working out while traveling is not her forte. Eve explained their relationship like this, "Working with trainer is intimate, [as it is with] a hairdresser."

For her fitness regimen, Eve is not a weight machine gal.

"We don’t do a lot of weights, but we do a lot of push-ups, crunches, and squats - exercises that let me use my own body weight. We work out in a private gym, but we’re about to start incorporating outdoor things into my routine. I can’t wait, because I love being outside."

Not hung up on unrealistic goals, the singer wants to be fit. Now that she's 30, she has become a bit more body conscious. Her reasons for working out go like this:

"I’m not trying to be super skinny. I want to keep my booty in order. When you’re 23, you can lose five pounds in a week because your metabolism is fast. I don’t want to do unhealthy things to lose weight fast for, say, a photo shoot. I do want to feel amazing in my clothes, though."

What do you think? Roller derby may be a crazy activity, but Eve sounds levelheaded to me.
