Reality Check: Victoria Beckham Now Works Out Daily

When Victoria Beckham came out as a gym addict earlier this year, people were more than a bit incredulous. Well Posh's fitness routine is once again in the news. It seems she didn't feel her old regimen of running eight miles six times a week was enough to prepare her body for her recent Emporio Armani ads with hubby soccer-stud David, so she implemented daily workouts. The 35-year old said, "I wanted to look at those pictures in 20 years' time and say 'Wow, look - after three kids - I didn't look bad.'" Mrs. Beckham didn't want to rely on retouching either.

One would think posing in gorgeous undergarments would give a gal a boost of confidence, but friends close to the former Spice Girl revealed that their gal pal's "not the most confident of girls." Sources close to Victoria told Us Magazine that she has had three breast surgeries, two enhancements followed by a reduction done earlier this year. Considering her fame and hot hubbie, does her lack of self-confidence surprise you?

Victoria Beckham: Reluctant Gym Bunny?

Two years ago, Victoria Beckham didn't find working out so posh and admitted that she didn't like to sweat. My how things have changed.

A member of the swanky gym Sports Club LA in Beverly Hills, it is reported that Posh works out six days a week. Aside from running eight miles a day on a treadmill, she has experimented with Pilates and spinning. A far cry from her complaints about the pain-in-her-small-bum cycling caused when she tried it a couple of years ago in Spain.

After acclimating to sweating, working out has increased Victoria's metabolism so the "naturally thin woman" can now enjoy eating. Aside from bringing food to her life, working out makes her feel "energized and healthy." For extra exercise motivation her husband loads her iPod with tunes. I guess Posh and I do have something in common: I, too, work out to increase my energy, improve my health, and allow me to eat just about anything I want. How about you?

Reality Check: Victoria Beckham Eats?

Posh is so often in the limelight for her fashion choices that her body is often the subject of discussion too. Uber slim Victoria Beckham defended her eating habits in the recent issue of Allure. Here's what she had to say about her diet:

"I'm very strict in the way I eat. I eat lots of fish, vegetables, fruit, Japanese food. I don't eat junk food. I'm really healthy; my kids are really healthy; David's really healthy. Of course I eat. I've been accused of not eating for ten years. If I hadn't eaten for ten years, I'd be [awfully] hungry."

I appreciate her dry British humor. She does exercise as well, and like most of us she feels guilty about not working out more.

" I try to make the best of what I got. I like to do Pilates, even though I should go more often . . . I'd like to go to the gym more often but with three children, I don't have the time. I'm 34 years old. I accept the way I look."

Whether she is naturally skinny or "starving," self-acceptance is an important lesson that seems to come along with being over thirty. What do you think?

Victoria Beckham Hates the Gym Too!

After reading this quote from Posh herself, Victoria Beckham, I thought about all the Stars, They're Just Like Us features we see in glossy tabloids...

Here's more:

"I really don't like the gym, in fact I can't stand it," she says with a laugh. "Maybe it's the whole getting sweaty thing, but it's just not me. I tried cycling in Spain but maybe my bum's too small as it just wasn't comfortable. I want to get fit, though, so I'm exploring some different options. I like what I've heard about Pilates - just sitting in a room, stretching and breathing. Sounds much more civilized."

Could you imagine if Posh was on the reformer next to you, swearing her bloody head off because Pilates does, in fact, make you sweat? Hilarious.

Victoria is not, and never has any ambitions to be, Sporty Spice. Like the majority of us, she hates the gym and is looking for the easy way out. It just goes to show that while money can do a lot of things for you fitness wise (celeb trainers, ritzy gym memberships, sweet gear, etc), it can't do the work for you. Not even if you're Victoria Beckham.
