Lanvin's Spring 2012 Video Ad Features Snakes at a Party

Lanvin created a Garden-of-Eden-inspired dinner party to feature their Spring 2012 collection, set to the beat of 18-year-old music artist Maxine Ashley's latest single, "Cookieman." The video, shot by Steven Meisel, has a similar energy and quirkiness as their Fall 2011 video, which featured Raquel Zimmermann and Karen Elson dancing in a house. That video went viral and spawned a fun fashion week version. This time, it's rising star model Aymeline Valade who looks ultra glamorous while draped in Lanvin's gorgeous dresses, as well as snakes - both real and in jeweled form. We've long-loved Derek Lam's namesake label; now the designer behind the minimalist, street-cool separates and chic dressing is giving us something else to gush about. His newly launched 10 Crosby collection is another foray into covetable clothing, this time with a lower price point ($195 to $895) and ultra-wearable line of easy silhouettes and fabrics. We got a peek at the new Resort collection during a sit-down last night at Barneys - and we were charmed almost as much by 10 Crosby's silky printed pajama pants as we were by the ever-delightful designer. Read what Derek has to say about the inspiration behind the new line, the best career advice he's ever received, and his holiday wish list.

Derek on the woman he had in mind when designing 10 Crosby:
I think that was the reason I used 10 Crosby as the label. There were so many great moments where someone was walking down the street and I'm like, 'God, she's super stylish, or she's very inspiring' and that's what I kind of use as my inspirations. I think 10 Crosby the address is so unique. It's one of my favorite streets in all of New York City. It's got high design, great furniture design, great fashion designers. It's a microcosm of something that I think is very special, very unique. It's got that perfect mix that I love about New York.

On the conceptual idea of 10 Crosby and his customer:
Can I say that it's me as a feminine? Truly, I think why I'm so excited about it, about doing 10 Crosby is that it's speaking to me as a consumer and I think that's really important and I think that's what keeps me really excited.

With the My Week With Marilyn film set to debut on Nov. 23, many of us have Marilyn Monroe on the mind. And as it turns out, she's inspired plenty of beauty products along the way. Mirabella Beauty's new Madame Rouge collection, for instance, features three lip shades that will make you feel (and look) just as blond bombshell as the actress herself: Velvet Lip Pencils ($20 each) in Crushed Velvet and Red Velvet and an UltraShine Lip Gloss in a shimmery berry tone ($26).

Was this Marc Jacobs's last collection for Louis Vuitton? If so, it was a gorgeous outing, as innocent and light as last season was naughty and rich. Models came off a white carousel, walking in sweet outfits as if every day were just another walk in the park. Oversized, embroidered eyelet took center stage, on dresses, adorning shirt collars, underneath layers of sheer organza on a skirt. Even the introduction of leather biker jackets couldn't cut the sugar, done as they were in canary yellow or baby blue, and paired with eyelet blouses and skirts. It was an idyllic setting, ultra feminine and ladylike, with nary a trace of Fall's fetishist theme. The icing on the cake? Kate Moss closing in a white babydoll dress that was covered in wispy feathers, looking innocent as can be.
