New Terra Chips: Stripes & Blues

How very patriotic of Terra to introduce a red, white, and blue chip medley they call Stripes and Blues. They are much healthier than the Lays chips I ate as a kid since they are made with 3 kinds of harvested veggies, not just your average potato. The red chips are made from sweet potatoes, the blue chips are made from blue potatoes, and the striped chips are striped beets.

These Stripes & Blues chips take my favorite Sweets & Beets to an entirely new visual level. I love that they're made with no trans fat or cholesterol, and contain hardly any saturated fat (the kind that is bad for your heart). Plus these chips have a much zestier flavor so they don't need a whole lot of sodium.

Well I'm just amazed that these chips are actually as pretty as the photo on the outside of the bag, plus I can actually pronounce all the ingredients! With only 110mg of sodium, these still taste salty and definitely satisfied my craving. Plus they have 2g of fiber (you can aways use more), 2g of protein, and 4% of your daily iron needs (I know it's not much, but every little bit counts). I love that there are 3 different chips in this bag, so your taste buds never get bored. I definitely recommend looking for these chips in a health food store near you, or in the health food section of your grocery store. Fit's Tip: Just remember, even though these chips are healthier than potato chips, they are still chips! So keep your portions under control.

Lacoste Fall 2012

If the snow outside wasn't enough for NYFW attendees, Felipe Oliveira Baptista provided a few snowflakes of his own for Lacoste's Fall runway show this morning at Lincoln Center. As fake snow blew into the audience, Oliveira Baptista set the tone for his sporty chic ski-inspired line. Mixing in the old - Oliveira Baptista referenced uniforms the brand designed for France's 1966 national ski team - with the new, the designer conceived a smart mix of body-conscious pieces fitting for any après-ski occasion. One can easily head to the slopes, or to the cabin, in one of Oliveira Baptista's rugby-meets-ski minidresses and jumpsuits or sport-striped leggings paired with chic oversized parkas and coats. Leather quilted vests and jackets injected a luxurious touch to the overt sportif theme. With a play on fashionable function, Oliveira Baptista experimented with zippers, some of which opened up all the way up to the shoulders to replicate the look of a cardigan tossed over your shoulder, while others served as pockets for hoods disguised as a stylish oversized collar. Rag & Bone Fall 2012

Rag & Bone's Fall runway show took place on a chilly evening at Pier 57, but everyone seemed to forget the brisk draft once David Neville and Marcus Wainwright started the show. "Think about a country house and all the things you might find in it," said Wainwright when describing the collection. Layering was key in the duo's vision; ikat printed dresses, wool jodhpurs, tapestry floral suiting, fur vests, and blanket striped wraps were smartly piled on top of one another, creating a luxe, textured feel without going overboard. Meanwhile, sharp tailored coats, blazers, precision-cut suit sets, and a continuous theme of leather touches tempered the varied mix, injecting a sharp, modern feel across the board. For accessories, Neville and Wainwright created more covetable must haves, supplying die-hard fans with a lineup of lace-up boots and stacked platform loafers. The closer? House of Pain's "Jump Around," which pretty much sums up the evening's exciting showing.

Richard Chai Love Fall 2012

Inspired by the idea of "handsome femininity," Richard Chai showed a Fall collection that was simultaneously simple, yet statement-making. “I didn’t want to do anything that was tricky,” Chai told The New York Times. “I didn’t want to create looks that were just for the show. I wanted it to be approachable and believable, but also be really aspirational. At the end of the day, it’s pieces that I want people to wear.” Chai's boy-meets-girl vision was interpreted into gorgeous slim-fit striped trousers, structured oversized blazers and coats, cozy knits, blanket-stripe coats, and moody florals. The latter was cut into diaphanous sheer skirts, corduroy pants, and jackets, adding a feminine streak to his city-slicker style. Furthermore, his outerwear was something to contend with; Chai's selection of oversized structured jackets and coats were perfectly tailored and ideal for topping off just about any Fall look.

Rachel McAdams Makes a Good Morning Visit For The Vow

Rachel McAdams made an early visit to Good Morning America's Manhattan studios today. The actress, whose latest film The Vow hits theaters next week, covered up a blue-striped shift with a white coat as she headed to the TV appearance. Later, she changed into a gorgeous jacquard dress by Andrew Gn before returning to her hotel. Rachel and her leading man in the movie, Channing Tatum, have been hot on the promotional trail for weeks. They've made stops in London, Germany, and LA to chat up the romance together. We had a chance to sit down with them when they were in California recently - stay tuned later this week to catch our interview with the duo!

Off screen, Rachel still seems to be going strong with her Midnight in Paris costar Michael Sheen. The couple have already shot a second film together, with Tree of Life director Terrence Malick, though Ben Affleck plays her love interest in the upcoming and as-of-yet untitled project.
