January is just around the corner, and that means it's time to play in the snow. Are you mountain ready? If you're in need of fresh gear, check out the new collection that snowboarding superstar Gretchen Bleiler designed for Oakley - and you thought they only made sunglasses.

Known for her crazy trick the inverted crippler, Bleiler designed a collection that mixes wild and tame. A jacket she calls The Mane features a faux fur trimmed hood and comes in three colors, one a bright yellow that suggests a lion abstracted. The collection includes basic jackets and pants, all with small details that give them style and flair. The jackets and pants are cut to flatter the female form, and many items are made with recycled polyester. At $250 to $300, the price range might be as steep as the mountains you ride, but style wedded with comfort and warmth is always priceless.

The kids-size Chopper Star Wars snowboard ($190) is available in eight image variations, from a noble Yoda to the scene of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker locked in a lightsaber battle. To complete the Hoth-ready look is the youth-size R2D2 helmet ($100) that adjusts to any head size and helps to keep goggles in place.

6 Tricks to Save on Winter Spending

Winter can be an expensive season with all the gift giving, and your bank account may look worse for wear during this time. Don't worry, there are plenty of smart strategies you can take to lower your Winter bills. Here are some money-saving tricks to keep in mind this cold season:

Invest in a programmable thermostat. Save energy and money by programming the thermostat to control the heating and cooling when you're away from home or asleep. And these don't have to be expensive investments - there are programmable thermostats available for about $35.
Insulate your home. Figure out if your home can improve on insulation by conducting an inspection. The US Department of Energy website has good tips on DIY home inspections. Save energy and money by installing what works best for your house, from installing windows and doors that fit better or plug and caulk cracks and holes. Be sure to do your research online first, before attempting to make these changes on your own.
Consider a space heater. Using a space heater instead of central heating can save you money. If you only need to heat up one or two rooms, you'll save more money and energy using a space heater than central heating.

It's a Slippery Slope For Megan Fox and Jon Hamm on the Set of Friends With Kids

Megan Fox and Jon Hamm hit the slopes at the Mt. Peter ski resort in Warwick, NY, outside of NYC, today as they worked on Friends With Kids. The costars joked around in their snowboarding and ski gear before heading down the mountain under the direction of Jon's girlfriend, Jennifer Westfeldt, who's also the movie's director. The trio was last in Brooklyn, where they were spotted shooting on Saturday night. Jon's focusing on his big-screen project following a busy award season that had him out with the cast of Mad Men and his buddies from The Town like Jeremy Renner and Ben Affleck. Megan also attended a show this year, wearing a sexy Armani Prive gown to the Golden Globes. Jon will be back on the red carpet in no time, though, as he'll be out and about promoting Sucker Punch before it hits theaters on March 25.
