Battle of the Sinning Sexes: Church Says Sexes Sin Differently

A new report, based on confessions, carried out by 95-year-old Catholic priest and scholar Roberto Busa, reveals that men and women sin in different ways. Apparently, there is no sexual equality when it comes to sin.

The male leadership of the Catholic Church doesn't quite lead the charge on gender equality. Do you think the Church has separated the sexes based on sin to further the message that men and women are are qualitatively different, or does the report simply offer insightful information?

Fat People Don't Go to Heaven? Since When?

The lengths that people will go to, just to lose weight, never cease to amaze me, but this method may take the cake.

Recently I have been hearing a lot about the Remnant Fellowship Church in Franklin, Tennessee. This church preaches about God and weight loss in the Weigh Down Diet program. Amazingly enough, Weigh Down is the most successful Christian weight loss program in the country, which has many people flocking to Gwen Shamblin (pictured), the leader of Remnant, like fixated moths to a bright light.

The basics of the Remnant Fellowship are this: overeating is a sin. Her book The Weigh Down Diet, which has sold over a million copies worldwide stresses the benefits of eating tiny bites and objects to exercising to offset your caloric intake. The scare tactics and shame methods keep followers in line by telling them overeating will result in hell.

The best part. Remnant does not allow theological debate, and free will is basically out the door. Shamblin directs those with questions to her 800 number.

My take on this whole thing: The best way to lose weight from the Weigh Down Diet is by running (very, very fast) in the opposite direction of the Remnant Fellowship. This diet is cult-like and unhealthy, not only for the body but for the mind as well. I am all for a support group when trying to get fit, but not a support group that tells you it's either weight loss or hell. Shamblin is making millions while her followers are contemplating suicide, that's just not right.

J Lo Sees a Vegas Show With Casper as Idol Has a Disappointing Debut

Jennifer Lopez met Cirque Du Soleil stars from their show O in Las Vegas last night. She's in Sin City filming American Idol but decided to take the night off to see a show with boyfriend Casper Smart. Jennifer and Casper seem to be going strong, and he's even spoken out about their 18-year age differences. Casper tweeted, "Our ages are mere reminders of the hours logged on this earth and the precious time remaining. . . We should all honor our time here by indulging our passion and dreams. So, close your ears and open your hearts; Love and be happy!" J Lo later retweeted his sentiments to her 4.3 million followers.

American Idol returned for its 11th season on Wednesday night. However, the debut failed to post the impressive ratings seen in the past. The drop in Idol ratings isn't a complete loss, though. J Lo and her cohosts Steven Tyler, Randy Jackson, and Ryan Seacrest are still winning their primetime time slot.

7 Deadly Sins of Relationships

Today we may revel in sin, but not everything will be forgiven tomorrow. The seven deadly sins of relationships are like dating dealbreakers, only with the ante significantly upped. They can damn a relationship just when it begins or after years of commitment. And not just on Mardi Gras!

Fighting unfairly: There's no nice way to fight, but it must be done. You don't want to be a dirty fighter; nor do you want to be in a relationship with one. Watch out for instigating, using sarcasm, fighting to win instead of finding a solution, changing the subject, or just plain ignoring the problem (or person).
Holding grudges: For both people to move on, the offended person must see remorse, and the perpetrator must feel no grudge is being held. If you have to hash it out for hours or take a few weeks to think, do it. It's healthier than holding a grudge.
Refusing to depend on the other: We all want to maintain some independence in a relationship, but if you want 100 percent of it, then you shouldn't be in one. In order to create trust, you must be dependent on each other to an extent.
Undermining, especially public: For the most part, you should be his number-one advocate and vice-versa. If you make snide comments or jokes at the other's expense - especially in front of others - then that's a bad sign. In fact, it's one form of emotional abuse.
Keeping a huge secret: Not everything needs to be said, but if you have a Don Draper-size secret, which you fear will change everything, then bring it up before someone else does.
Tricking the other into a pregnancy: Both men and women are guilty of this, and I bet many have gotten away with it (if getting away with it means not breaking up). But if either party does this, then the relationship is headed nowhere healthy.
Cheating: This shouldn't have to be said, but it happens all the time. We all define cheating differently, but its advanced forms are pretty universal. Committing it doesn't make you a bad person, but the reality is very few relationships survive infidelity: either guilt or truth undoes most in the end.

Britney Spears and Jason Trawick stopped at a convenience story in NYC today, and Britney's sparkling engagement ring was in view as they left holding hands. Jason proposed to Britney on Dec. 15, just a few days before they headed to Vegas to celebrate his 40th birthday. The happy pair showed off Britney's Neil Lane stunner during their stay in Sin City, posing for pictures at a party they hosted at Planet Hollywood.

The trip to Nevada was one of many the duo took together in 2011. Jason was close by Britney's side for most of the year, along with her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, as she toured the world. She closed her Femme Fatale concert series in Puerto Rico on Dec. 12, and her boys, Jason, and her mother joined her on stage for the last song in the final show. Jason waited until the family was back in LA before popping the question, however, and Britney quickly hinted at their exciting news on Twitter before the duo officially confirmed their plans to wed.
