OK FitSugar readers, this week’s column is not based on a single reader’s question. Instead it is going to be a broad, general answer to the vast amount of questions regarding sex, contraception, and pregnancy we here at Sugar get on a rather routine basis. Most questions that we receive are along the lines of: "I'm not on birth control and had unprotected sex, am I pregnant?" or "We used a condom, but it broke . . . am I pregnant?" This column deals with sex, common types of contraception and their failure rates, and how to avoid unplanned pregnancies. I can't speak for you, but I can admit that I don't know much about them other than the fact that they can tell you if the condom breaking incident and your late period have anything in common. Pregnancy Test: Take It Alone or With Others?

Since I'm not married and not ready to be a mom yet, taking a pregnancy test doesn't strike me as a joyous occasion. If I did have to buy a test, pee on a stick, and wait to find out if my period was late because I was pregnant, I'd definitely want someone in the room with me. Though I'm not sure every woman feels the same way.

So if you had to take a pregnancy test, would you want someone in the bathroom with you? Would you want the support of a friend, family member, or the person you had sex with? Or is this news private and something you'd want to discover alone?

Brooke Burke Reveals How She Stays Fit While Pregnant

Brooke Burke, pregnant with her fourth child, is one celeb who never ceases to amaze me with how fast she is back into a bikini postpartum. With Brooke, I think a lot of is it good genes (much like Keri Russell), but she's no couch potato either. Here's more:

"I’ve been doing Pilates for eight years. I actually started with my first pregnancy. I’m a big believer in staying fit during your pregnancy," says Burke, 36. "I know a lot of women are a little afraid to work their abs, or are afraid of core work, but I think it supports your back and I think it helps for an easier delivery and it makes us feel good," says the actress. "The more fit you are during your pregnancy, the quicker you're going to bounce back. I probably started up two weeks after delivery and I felt I could handle that."

She's telling the truth too. Check out old pictures of Brooke when she was about eight months pregnant doing BOSU work!

Should Mothers Be Prosecuted For Exposing Their Unborn Babies to Drugs?

Could a glass of wine during pregnancy land you behind bars? It might if you live in Alabama. In this upcoming weekend's New York Times Magazine, Ada Calhoun delves into Alabama's controversial chemical-endangerment laws where mothers who give birth to babies with even a trace of drugs in their bloodstreams are not only ordered into rehab but are criminally prosecuted for putting their newborns in harm's way.

In one case, when a newborn died hours after his premature birth, and mother tested positive for methamphetamine, she was charged with a Class A felony for contributing to the death of her child, with a mandatory sentence of 10 years to life. The laws - which are the harshest in the country - were designed to protect kids from "explosive meth labs," but they are now being applied to expectant mothers, and that's where the controversy comes in. Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists all fear that such prosecutions may just be the tip of the iceberg. In the article, Emma Ketteringham, the director of the National Advocates For Pregnant Women, says:

"It starts with cocaine, and then it’s cigarettes and alcohol. How much alcohol? And when? It’s only a matter of time until it comes to refusing a bed-rest order because you need to work and take care of your other children and then you have a miscarriage. What if you stay at a job where you’re exposed to toxic chemicals, as at a dry cleaner? What if you keep taking your SSRIs during pregnancy? If a woman is told that sex during her pregnancy could be a risk to the fetus, and the woman has sex anyway and miscarries, are you going to prosecute the woman - and the man, too?"

Sometimes you just can't wait! After buying a home pregnancy test, some hopeful mamas-to-be just can't make it home before peeing on the stick. At a recent event introducing the new easy-to-handle Clearblue Plus Pregnancy Test, maternity concierge and BravoTV reality star Rosie Pope revealed that she discovered her third pregnancy at her oldest son's third birthday party. Saying she just couldn't wait to go home to take the test, she snuck into the bathroom and learned the exciting news.

Most LilSugar readers told us they took their tests at home, but we want to know - pregnant or not - where was the strangest place you took the test?
