Noboarding: I Say Yes to the No, bindings that is

If you are a surfer in your heart and soul, nothing can compare to the freedom of gliding over ocean waves, with nothing but a board between you.

But in the winter, your only option is to snowboard, but the feeling of being locked into bindings that are attached to a board, isn't much like surfing at all. Until now.

Check out the noboard. No bindings. Nothing but you and your board. In order to stay on, you hold onto a rope that's attached to your board, which has a heavy duty, thermal-set, elastomeric pad. This just means that it's specifically designed to have outstanding grip and it's able to handle cold temperatures.

Noboarding allows you to use your body more freely, which obviously makes it much more difficult than regular snowboarding. Which was why it was created in the first place by the late and great Gregg Todd.

I Don't Buy It: Kinoki Foot Pads

Interested in detoxing your body and getting rid of just about every bad thing that could possibly be stored in your system? Well the makers of Kinoki Foot Pads have something to get rid of all the toxins we get from our food, water, and air. They claim that if you wear these pads while you sleep (sounds comfy), they'll cure problems like insomnia, depression, and headaches by removing heavy metals, metabolic wastes, parasites, chemicals, and cellulite from your body. Wait - cellulite too? So if I wear these things on my feet, the fat from my booty will get sucked right out and onto these foot pads? Sounds like they've discovered the cure for obesity. If these things work so well, why don't they make Kinoki body pads?

The commercial mentions that one independent study was done to prove how effective these are. I'd love to see the actual data instead of some tiny chart on the screen showing "lab results." They cost $19.99 for 14 pads, and they'll send you a free supply for life. What's up with that? I'm thinking that if these things really got rid of toxins and cured migraines, depression, and back pain, you'd be sharing your lifetime supply with all your friends and relatives. Is this too hard to believe, or do you think these things may actually work?

Nothing beats heading out for a ride on Christmas day decked out in new gear with all sorts of new biking accessories. From full fingered, padded cycling gloves - a wintertime must have - to entry level biking computers, this list has something every cyclist wants. If your biking friend has everything, splurge and give them a biking computer with a built in heart rate monitor for the full fitness riding experience. Fancy cycling knickers are a perfect gift too. Even if there is snow on the ground, these padded knickers will be great for early Spring rides after the thaw. Don't forget the urban cyclist either. Cramps Got You Down?

When you've got tummy cramps or lower back pain from your monthly visitor, sometimes taking a pain reliever doesn't really do the job.

Applying heat to your belly or back can do wonders. I always like taking a hot shower or bath.

But if you don't feel like getting all wet and going through the long ordeal of drawing a bath, lie on the couch with your favorite romantic comedy, some chocolate, and a vibrating heating pad under your back or low belly.

You can use it with just the heat, just the vibes, or both together. It really helps relieve the tightness and pain or menstrual cramps. It's quite the deal for under $30.

Since you all loved the Keeper so much, I thought you might like to know about this alternative feminine hygiene product as well. It's another natural and more environmental approach to dealing with your dear Aunt Flo.

You've heard of moms using re-usable cloth diapers, right? They inspired the design of GladRags, cloth menstrual pads in 1992.

You can buy a basic set which includes a holder and 2 inserts. You slip the insert into the holder, like an envelope, and snap the "wings" around the crotch of your undies. You can buy a 3-pack for $30.

They're made of 100% cotton, so they're comfortable and can be washed easily. They work just like disposable pads, except instead of chucking them, you soak them in cold water, and then wash and dry them in the machine.

GladRags are a great option if you want to do your part to reduce consumer waste of paper products and their packaging. And think about how much money you could be saving. You'd never have to buy another pad again.
