Tori Spelling Asks, "Now I'm Too Thin?"

Former Beverly Hills 90210 star, Tori Spelling, has always sported a thin frame. After giving birth to her second child, she quickly lost the 50 pounds of baby weight in only about six months. She did it all on her own, by watching what she ate, walking and swimming with her family, and doing strength training moves like crunches and squats.

Now the media is accusing her of being too thin, speculating that this 5'6" celebrity weighs an estimated 112 pounds. While Tori hasn't shared the number on her scale, she's brushing off negative comments that say she's too skinny. In an Us Weekly article, she defended her weight, saying that she eats sensibly and exercises with her family. In the past, she felt "bullied by the press and public opinion about her weight," but now she has more important things to worry about. Aside from spending time with her family, she's been having a blast filming multiple episodes of the New 90210. It's nice to hear that she's doing her thing and not worrying about what the media has to say. I just hope she really is taking good care of herself.

Love Your Body Day Is Today

I just found out that today is Love Your Body Day. Although it might be a little late in the day, you still have a few hours to love your body, and don't stop the love when the clock strikes midnight. Being kind to yourself is an important mindset to maintain.

The Love Your Body campaign was created by the National Organization for Women to expose the unrealistic beauty standards created by the media all around us. You know how it bothers me when I see how much cover girls, like Faith Hill, are photoshopped. NOW's campaign delves deeper into the beauty myth with their educational video and slide show The ABCs and Ds of Commercial Images of Women. It is definitely worth checking out.

So don't criticize your body, at least for the rest of the day! Remember, even Faith Hill doesn't look like cover girl Faith Hill!

Katie Holmes left the Greenwich Hotel in NYC last night in the company of her loved ones, Tom and Suri Cruise. The trio were reunited on Thursday when Tom returned to the Big Apple following an international media tour on behalf of his spy thriller, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol. The film, which opened in select IMAX theaters yesterday, is getting strong reviews from critics, especially for Tom's death-defying stunts. Tom has the weekend to relax and spend time with family before Monday's stateside premiere of his fourth Mission: Impossible installment. In addition to celebrating Katie's 33rd birthday tomorrow he's also getting an early holiday gift as well. Ghost Protocol is projecting to earn $12 million in ticket sales on a limited number of screens.

5 Reasons Not to Bash Your Ex on Social Media

Last weekend, Kat Von D wrote a public note on her Facebook page provocatively titled: "Thank you, Jesse James." Certain aspects of her personal note conveyed a message of healthy healing. With that said, there were more than a few stinging comments that seemed a little out of place for someone coming from a place of "love and light."

After a breakup you might have a genuine desire to move on, but any sort of public bashing, whether it's honest or not, is an open ticket for outsiders to misconstrue your words. Openly criticizing an ex on any form of social media is a bad idea; here are five things to remember before you bash and click.

It's not going to make you feel any better. For a hot second you may feel like you've accomplished something, but at the end of the day, bashing your ex on social media is going to do nothing but stir up hurt feelings from the past. Whether you're a public figure like Kat or not, a public bash is an open invitation for your Facebook friends and Twitter followers to give their opinion on your heartache. At the end of the day, the only person who can really make you feel better is you.
It's always better to take the high road. I get it. Your heart is hurt and you want to bring that pain back to your ex. The truth is the bashing or cruel words are not going to do anything but hurt you more. Fixating on your lost love will only make you feel more hurt. No matter how dirty your ex did you, no matter how much you feel he messed up your world, it's always better to keep your nasty thoughts to yourself and take the high road.
If you genuinely need to make peace with yourself, Facebook is not a place to do it. Facebook and Twitter are wonderful ways to connect with people we care about and share information in a whole new arena. But there's nothing worse than opening your stream and seeing people whining or complaining. It's just not the right forum for this kind of conversation. If you're really upset and not sure where to turn, call a close friend or family member. This is always the better option.

The US Credit Rating Downgrade: What It Means For You

You’ve probably heard the news already-our country’s credit rating just took a dive.

On Friday evening, Standard & Poor’s, one of the world’s three major credit rating agencies, dealt a major blow to the United States’ financial psyche by announcing that it has downgraded the country’s credit rating from AAA to AA+. This marks the first time in history that the U.S. has lost its top-ranked credit rating from one of the major agencies.

The U.S. moves from the company of other AAA countries like Australia, Canada, France, Singapore and Germany to the company of the two AA+ countries, Belgium and New Zealand. The world is reeling with varied reactions to this news, as analysts try to predict what this will mean for the domestic and global economies. Is this media hype or true disaster? Can we fix the situation and earn our AAA score back? And what does this mean for the average American?

We cut through the noise to bring you the cheat sheet on the credit rating downgrade, the various viewpoints on the downgrade itself, its potential effects-and what it means for you.

What Happened-In a Snapshot

As we reported in our story last week summarizing the debt ceiling deal, governments receive credit rating scores that investors use to analyze credit-worthiness. These credit scores are determined by three major international credit reporting agencies: Moody’s, Fitch and Standard & Poor’s.

After the debt ceiling deal was struck, Moody’s and Fitch maintained their AAA scores for the U.S. (although Moody’s downgraded the U.S. credit outlook to “negative”). S&P, on the other hand, decided on Friday to downgrade the U.S.’s credit rating to AA+. For the first time in history, America lost its unanimous AAA rating across all three agencies. On a side note, however, China’s leading credit agency Dagong Global Credit Rating Co. stripped America, Britain, Germany and France of their AAA ratings last July, accusing the top three agencies of Western bias, and giving greater weight to “wealth creating capacity.”

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka jetted to France for a family vacation with twins Gideon and Harper and found themselves sunning along the coast of France with friends Elton John, David Furnish, and their son, Zachary. NPH is coming off his latest media blitz, promoting his Summer live-action 3D film The Smurfs. The film wasn't a runaway success with critics, but it did share the top spot at the box office with Cowboys & Aliens last weekend, each respectively taking in $36.2 million. NPH missed out on ABC's TCA events this week in LA, but his costar Jason Segel was there to represent the cast of How I Met Your Mother and field questions about the show's upcoming seventh season. He didn't give away any mother spoilers, though Jason did talk about his character, Marshall, becoming a dad, saying, "I feel so bad for whatever kids they hire. I'm so awkward. I'm like the Abominable Snowman from the Bugs Bunny cartoons. These poor, acting babies."

4 Things to Look Out For in Sarah Palin's Movie About Herself

Never the conventional candidate, Sarah Palin is poised to launch her potential presidential campaign by screening a two-hour feature film about herself in Iowa. While she's yet to make a decision about running, she has commissioned a movie by conservative director Stephen K. Bannon that covers her entry into local politics, her VP run, and her decision to quit her job as governor. Interviewing Palin supporters and showing the prefame side of Palin that most don't know, the movie hopes to fire up Republican fans and critics alike about a Palin bid, or at least improve her legacy.

RealClearPolitics screened an advanced copy of the film, titled The Undefeated, and gave an extensive account of what we can expect. Here are four things to look out for:

God: Palin is presented as a Joan of Arc-like figure, and the film is filled with religious metaphor. RealClearPolitics says it divides the "world between the heroes who are on her side and the villains who seek to thwart her at every turn."
Wild Animals: Palin's persecution by the media and political insiders is shown with images of "lions killing a zebra and a dead medieval soldier with an arrow sticking in his back."
Celebrity Palin Haters: The movie begins with a montage of celebrities bashing Palin with sexist and derogatory language. "Rosie O'Donnell, Matt Damon, Bill Maher, David Letterman, and Howard Stern all have brief cameos," RealClearPolitics explains, "before comedian Louis CK goes off on a particularly ugly anti-Palin riff."
Palin 1.0: We can expect lots of never-before-seen home videos, recounts of a time when Palin was the most popular governor in America with an 80 percent approval rating, and a simpler version of the Palin we now know. According to RealClearPolitics, The Undefeated "conveys the dramatic extent to which Palin's world has changed in just a few years, as it shows her announcing her gubernatorial campaign not at a massive rally but at a sparsely attended press conference in her kitchen."

Meghan McCain's Best Comebacks to Glenn Beck's Attack on Her Body

Glenn Beck didn't hold back when he cruelly attacked Meghan McCain for sporting a strapless dress in a skin cancer PSA, revealing her shoulders and collarbone. Yesterday on his radio show, he exclaimed that he was "getting sick just looking at it," pretended to vomit on air, and asked "has she thought about a burqa, just to be extra safe?" Wasting little time, Meghan took to her Daily Beast column to tell Glenn Beck to shut up about her body. Here are the best lines from her response:

On how he's out of touch: "Clearly you have a problem with me, and possibly women in general, but the truth is, it's 2011 and I heard your show on Fox was canceled. Isn't that an indication that the era of the shock jock pundit is over?"
On his embarrassing sexism: "There really is no need to make something like my participation in a skin cancer PSA into a sexist rant about my weight and physical appearance, because I'm going to let you in on a little secret, Glenn: you are the only one who looks bad in this scenario."
On the impact he could have on his teen daughters: "You're a full-grown man with teenage daughters who are probably dealing with the sexist, body-obsessed media environment that is difficult for all women. Is this really the legacy you want to be leaving for yourself?"
On the body-image double-standard: "As a person who is known for his hot body, you must find it easy to judge the weight fluctuations of others, especially young women. If any of your daughters are ever faced with some kind of criticism of their physical appearance or weight, they should call me, because women's body image is another issue I feel passionate about, and have become accustomed to dealing with and speaking with young women about on my college tours."
On the staleness of his jokes: "Next time, instead of jumping straight to the 'Meghan McCain fat jokes' maybe try out some new material? Because the fat joke thing, it's been done so many times, I know a creative intellect such as yourself can do better than that."
On how he helped her skin-cancer awareness cause anyway: "I am writing to thank you for helping me spread the word about a serious condition."

The annual White House Correspondents' Dinner brought celebrities and the media stars who love them to the White House in Washington DC on Saturday night. Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn were inseparable after the event, but she first walked the red carpet with her brother Hunter. Other couples were more comfortable posing before the cameras, with Jon Hamm cozying up to Jennifer Westfeldt, Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer sticking together, and Paul Rudd making the rounds with wife Julie when not chilling with Parks and Recreation funny girls Amy Poehler and Rashida Jones. Salma Hayek also had her husband Francois-Henri Pinault on hand, and Chace Crawford tagged along with sister Candice and her fiancé Tony Romo. The Vampire Diaries duo Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder made the rounds, as Mila Kunis made one half of an interesting pair with CNN's Wolf Blitzer. Seth Meyers was the evening's emcee, but it was President Obama who stole the show. The president hit back at critics like Donald Trump and even Matt Damon, who recently expressed disappointment with the administration. Obama said of Damon, "I've even let down my key core constituency: movie stars. Just the other day, Matt Damon - I love Matt Damon, love the guy - Matt Damon said he was disappointed in my performance. Well, Matt, I just saw The Adjustment Bureau, so. . . .right back atcha, buddy."
