If your back is feeling sore or tight, you need to find someone to lean on and I mean that literally. Find a willing partner and give this double yoga pose a try. To be honest, when I first saw this pose, I thought it looked boring, but trust me – it feels amazing.

After being laid off and collecting unemployment for a few weeks, an amazing career opportunity has just fallen into your lap, and you have a job interview tomorrow. Needless to say, you're anxious and stressed, and it's nothing a hot bath or cup of tea can handle. A Reiki session could be just the thing to calm your nerves and release tension from your tight muscles.

Surgery
Kyphoplasty, a surgical technique used to treat spinal fractures, does not improve a person's back pain or quality of life, according to a review published in 2006 by a nonprofit health services research agency. Kyphoplasty should only be done if bed rest, medicines, and physical therapy do not relieve back pain.
Ultrasound
Therapeutic ultrasound uses sound waves to deliver gentle vibrations to an area of the body.

Traveling can be such a pain in the neck so next time you're at the airport, stop by one of these airport spa/massage destinations for a quick treatment or even a massage to get that pain out of your neck.
- JFK International Airport (NY): The Oasis Day Spa is New York’s first full service airport spa (in JetBlue's Terminal 6). There, you’ll be able to get a manicure, pedicure, and facial treatments.
- Baltimore-Washington International Airport: Destination Relaxation -- one is a chair-massage station on Pier B and the other is a full-service store on Pier D that offers table and chair massages, as well as foot and hand rubs.
- Chicago's O'Hare International Airport: The Backrub Hub offers neck and back massages in Terminal 3 (by the American and Delta gates).

The latest in relaxation involves a little more work than just laying on a massage table and getting rubbed down.
Thai Yoga Massage (some people call it "Thai Massage" only) is a massage where the practitioner guides the recipient through a series of yoga postures while massaging along the body's pressure points. Ultimately it is a full body massage performed on a floor mat with a practitioner who uses hands, feet, arms, and legs to guide the client into various yoga postures.

With all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it is important to make sure you fit in a little "you time" every now and again. I was given the opportunity for some serious "me time" during a recent Aston Patterning Massage (APM) session compliments of Tre Balm Beauty Boutique and Skin Care Studio here in San Francisco and let me tell you, it was much needed.
For anyone that has never had this type of massage before, APM is basically a massage technique that combines deep tissue work, massage, and movement all in one.

HEALTH GUIDE REFERENCE FROM A.D.A.M
Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is an injury caused by a pinched nerve in the wrist, resulting in pain and numbness in the index and middle fingers and weakness of the thumb. The carpal tunnel receives its name from the eight bones in the wrist, called carpals, which form a "tunnel" through which the nerve leading to the hand extends.
Signs and Symptoms
Some easy-to-recognize signs and symptoms of CTS include the following.

Angioplasty Versus Drugs
Angioplasty works no better than drug therapy (high blood pressure, cholesterol, anti-platelet, and other medication) in preventing heart attack and stroke in patients with stable coronary artery disease (CAD), according to an important New England Journal of Medicine study. Experts still recommend angioplasty for patients with unstable or severe CAD.
Stents
- Stents coated with drugs may have a slightly higher risk of causing blood clots than bare metal stents, according to FDA meetings held in late 2006.

Drug Warning
In 2007, the FDA requested the manufacturers of omalizumab (Xolair) to include a “boxed warning” emphasizing that this drug may cause a severe and life-threatening allergic reaction (anaphylaxis). Omalizumab is approved for patients who have moderate-to-severe asthma related to allergies and whose symptoms are not controlled by inhaled corticosteroids. It is given by injection in a doctor’s office every 2 - 4 weeks.

Soothing partner yoga poses such as Dog Hero, Massage Table, and Double Gate are great for connecting with someone or for a good stretch, but sometimes I'm in the mood for something a little more fun and challenging. You've probably done this flying move with your 2-year-old niece, but it's not just for kids. The reason it's so great when you're older is because the person on the top can utilize the force of gravity to feel deeper stretches, and the person on the bottom experiences an amazing lower-back release from the weight of his or her partner.
