Even though some of us are getting ready for school and starting preparations for fall, it is still really hot outside and ice cream is often top choice for an August dessert. Although it is creamy, cool and delish, ice cream is no friend to those watching their waist lines. It can be loaded with calories, fat and sugar.

You might be asking yourself what is confusing about ice cream? It is delish, cold, creamy and loaded with fat. Well not always since ice cream manufacturers have become hip to the fact that consumers are watching their waistlines and fat intake.

At a time when many people are resolving to eat less ice cream, Baskin-Robbins has introduced its new line of more diet-friendly treats under the umbrella name BRight Choices. The new selection includes a variety of flavors of light, fat-free, dairy-free, and no-sugar-added ice cream, frozen yogurt, and sorbet.
The company's website lists nutritional information for the different types of treats and flavors — for example, the Premium Churned Light Ice Cream has 50 percent less fat and 20 percent fewer calories than Baskin-Robbins' regular ice cream.

Treatment for Ingrown Toenail:
- Orthonyxia, a surgical technique that implants a small metal brace into the top of the nail, was as effective as traditional surgical techniques for preventing ingrown toenail from recurring, according to one study.
- A nonsurgical method for treating ingrown toenail with chemicals uses either sodium hydroxide or phenol, but one study shows that sodium hydroxide procedures have a better outcome and faster recovery than phenol procedures.
Treatment for Forefoot Pain:
- Ultrasound-guided injection of alcohol might provide relief from Morton's neuroma, according to one study. Symptoms improved in 94% of patients who had the treatment, a success rate comparable to that of surgery.
Treatment for Heel Pain:
- NSAIDs reduce pain and disability in people with plantar fasciitis when used with other techniques, such as night splints and stretching.
- Studies show that extracorporeal shockwave therapy provides a very small reduction in heel pain without side effects. It may be a good option for patients who haven't responded well to conservative treatment.
Work-related Foot Problems:
- An estimated 120,000 job-related foot injuries occur every year, about a third of them involving the toes.

Verapamil May Cause Heart Problems
Verapamil (Calan) is a blood pressure medication that is used "off-label" as a first-line preventive treatment for cluster headaches. However, when used for cluster headache, this drug may sometimes cause dangerous disturbances in heart rhythms (arrhythmia), according to a 2007 study in Neurology. The researchers recommend that patients who take verapamil should receive regular electrocardiograms to monitor for any signs of potential heart problems.

I love ice cream just about anytime of the year, but there's nothing more satisfying than spooning down some cold ice cream on a hot summer's day.
We all know that Ben & Jerry's ice cream is totally rich and decadent, and not exactly the healthiest thing on the planet. That's why it's great to know that they make healthier alternatives like Frozen Yogurt, Lighten Up (light ice cream and frozen yogurt with less fat, sugar, and calories), and Sorbets.
